Why do we still have wars? Because the war mongers either lack the basic intelligence or the desire to heed George Santayana's sage words.
I am reading a great book about World War One titled To End All Wars. It is chilling to read the similarities of sentiments pre-1914 and the rhetoric still heard today. Namaste, Vlad |

Hi Vlad,
I'm surprised that you take such a superficial view. The rhetoric is just the tip of the iceberg. Anyway, war is actually less prevalent today than at any previous period of history or even of pre-history. At least half of the remains of men who died in paleolithic and neolithic times show that they were violently killed. Very few human beings are still living in such a violent world. |
