SOME 6 year old Aboriginal kids run the streets and do as they please in SOME parts of Australia. It is not a cultural thing. It is a result of enormous disadvantage and alcohol abuse.
My Aboriginal nephew and niece did not run the streets as 6 year olds, or ever, and nor did my Aboriginal first cousins. Indeed the only disadvantage they suffered was relatively soft racism, which in the main they shrugged off. That is not to deny that there are Aboriginals in Australia that suffer shocking disadvantage and very hard racism. I see it all the time. But Kam, you seem to make huge generalisations based on your own limited experience. And Kam, I have never once called you a liar. I have said repeatedly that some of your statements are false, generalisations, assumptions etc. I believe I have, over and over, provided facts to back up what I've said. BTW: it wasn't only the evil Christians luring people in with chocolate over Easter - I was given chocolate at both Bunnings Hardware and a garden nursery that weekend. It seems to be a common ploy we should all guard against. |

While I certainly disagree with Kam on a number of points, I feel I should defend him on two.
I find the story of the church group convincing attendees not to have any association with other religions very plausible and assume it happened as Kam told it. However I also think they not only have the right to do so, but it also makes perfect sense if they're sincere in their beliefs. Also, if someone were to say that all Aboriginal kids roam the streets, that would certainly be untrue and racist, but I assume Kam just meant the ones he's working with, which is presumably the case. And going back to the first post, I'm not Catholic, but from what I've seen, Pope Francis seems to be a very good man. |

Well how would them doing as he so despises be any different than what he himself is doing right here in this thread and many others?

When I was a young teenager, I was very interested in the Baha'is, because they presented themselves as a religion that synthesized all of the great religions of the world. Then I found out that "Baha'i" means a follower of Bahá'u'lláh, a XIXth Century Persian who proclaimed himself to be the messiah/savior of the world, and I realized that Baha'i was another arrogant religion based on adoration of a charismatic figure, and proclaiming itself not to have synthesized the great religions of the world, but to have superseded them. I lost interest, for myself. I hasten to add, that I greatly admire the persistence and perseverance of the Baha'is in Iran, who are demonstrating to a deluded and misled population what "martyrdom" really means.

Here is the policy document of the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia, which has a detailed explanation of policy regarding non Catholic students in Catholic education and absolutely no mention of non Catholic students needing to be baptised.
http://internet.ceo.wa.edu.au/ReligiousE......ment.pdf I will mention again that in 2011 there were over 200,000 non Catholic students in Catholic education in Australia. The very first Catholic school to open in Australia at Hunter's Hill in our early colonial days had 31 pupils, 9 of whom were Protestant. |

But that doesn't fit an agenda. How are facts relevant to the discussion when he knows of two cases where he claims it happened yet has no real proof of it?

I just don't get it. Kam go live you life and be a shining example for all to see. All you do is go around here from thread to thread running your mouth with intolerance and aspousing a true ignorance of what Catholic faith is.
What does it matter o you what others believe? How does it hurt you? Let others believe. Is this how you spend your time? Online proselytizing your one true faith and bashing Catholics? Why break so much rock over it? Let it go.

My goodness, you guys enjoying yourselves??
Destiny, maybe a perspective to consider was maybe, just maybe, Kam has been advised this by information by someone.....and you would be right. When we set up development projects in neighborhoods, especially with cultures we are are not too familiar with, we work "WITH" the elders of that neighborhood. Not all the kids in Hilton are neglected, some are admittedly, but most are just fine, either in their own families or fostered to grandparents who are simply lovely. ALL the kids play on the street outside their houses, all day if possible. This is because the indigenous elders have advised the child protection department that the children are in a better environment when outdoors because that's their natural ancestral habitat. They also advised us to hold our programs outdoors whenever possible. They also advised us that if we were to feed them, we feed them low sugar, non processed foods, so we give them fruit and fruit only, but not any kind of fruit, only stuff in season and preferably native (so no kiwi fruits) So maybe, just maybe, a few questions may have been asked before whacking me with stuff AGAIN, which Danny takes and changes for a hacksaw and has a fun day of good old fashioned fun with!! The link you provided.....BRILLIANT!! Thank you again, you're previous link proved with verifiable DATA that Catholic schools in Australia teach nothing about other religions at all This link now proves discrimination in the enrolling process of the highest order. I was thinking of starting a school with similar enrollment policies. Here is item 5.2.2 (please compare with item 5.2.2 in your link) The enrollment policy shall provide for the following enrollment priorities: 5.2.2 Secondary school • white folk from white schools with reference proving they are all white • white folk not from non-white schools with reference they are white • other white folk from white schools • other white folk from non-white schools • siblings of non-white folk in our white school • non - white folk from other white schools • non-white folk from westernized countries • non-white folk It's D.I.S.C.R.I.M.I.N.A.T.I.O.N Only those with their head up their backside can't see it Oh hang on but the white school website says that they enrolled 200,000 non white folk every year. Little did anyone know that 20 million non white folk were told "Good luck" just like my staff member was. Either way, I don't care if she's the only one on this planet, the whole policy is discriminating, full stop. Now, the heaven and hell thing. Again, if I was anecdotal with everyone not being saved outside of Catholicism, why the heck would the Pope even address the problem??? You guys.......I'm through with your bandwagon of name callings Racist, Danny??? I've done more for racial harmony than all in this thread put together, and all I saw from everyone else is joining in with the slurring. Where was the "Danny, that's very judgmental" comments, not one. I don't expect any apologies either Enjoy!! Kam

Kam-
Earlier in this thread you were arguing that Catholic schools did not admit non-Catholics. Now, confronted with information that proves that they do, you have changed your position to "they're not admitting ENOUGH non-Catholics and giving priority to Catholic admissions is discriminatory." They're called Catholic schools for a reason. |

Once again we see the difference a choice of words can make. Quote:

They also advised us to hold our programs outdoors whenever possible. Two statements that both say the kids are outside - but each put it in a completely different light - yet you use the second to justify the first. I am not even going to address the false equivalency of Catholic schools giving priority to Catholic students to your race based invention, but I will remind you, seeing you keep repeating a nonsense, that I did not provide anything to show Catholic schools do not mention other religion. I provided a link to the Catholic syllabus which in fact declared that other religions should be taught but did not provide detail. Quote:
Why learn Religious Education? I'm sure if I searched enough the detail could be found but as a result of this thread I already know enough about Catholic education in Australia to set myself up as a consultant and I'm not Catholic and I don't have kids. |
