There is an item on sale called Ring On Brandy Snifter. As a conclusion to a Himber ring routine, you link the last borrow ring onto the stem of a brandy snifter, such that the glass has to be broken to be returned.
Kalver describes such an item in his book, but this uses a glass each time, whereas this dealer's effect is labelled as using the same one each time, with no refills necessary. If this is a gimmick with a new method that does what the ad promises, then it's useful to me. Can anyone who has this please give their opinions? Thanks! |

Kris:
I'm not sure what the "sale" price is you are mentioning is but I just sold one on Ebay and was a little disapointed it only brought $15. I got it as part of a lot I got on Ebay and put back the stuff that I wasn't going to be interested in. It is a nice effect for medium-size audiences, includes an ungimmicked glass to show, and some other "stuff." The included routine is well thought out. Hank Lee's retails this for about $50, and with anything, if it is someting you are going to routine into an actual performance then the $ is worth it. Bryn

I own one and can't recomend it. To take the ring off you have to "brake the brandy snifter" inside a paper bag, and you can't toss the paper bag away.
I'm a working perfomer and bought this item with the intention to work it and put in the act, so I was disappointed. This is not workable close-up. |

Thiago - As you read in my above post, it wasn't for me either, as I mostly do mentalism, and I got it as part of a lot of effects. However, it isn't advertised as a close-up item. I think someone who performs platform/stage magic could make good use of this (especially if combined with a H***** Ring routine)
