My Pinoy friends use the same Zodiac we do, although you might be interested in this article claiming past ties to the Hindu Zodiac.

The use of the expressions "Hindu Zodiac" or "Hindu Astrology" only dates back to the 19th century. The modern expression, "Vedic Astrology" and "Vedic Zodiac" only dates back to the 1980s. It's certainly accurate to call it "Indian Astrology" or the "Indian Zodiac," since they originated in India. The proper name for the system in Sanskrit is "Jyotish." It would also be accurate to call it the "Tantric Zodiac" or "Tantric Astrology" since practitioners of the ancient spiritual system known as Tantra (the sexual aspect of Tantra is just a tiny part of the entire thing and blown way out of proportion in the West) were the ones who developed it. In India, many of the people who perform Jyotish readings are Tantrics.

My favorite zodiac constellation from the Philippines shows the guy peeing in a shop doorway while eating a duck embryo. It's not wrong, it's just different.

Apparently, the pre-colonial Philippines used Indian astrology. The Indian zodiac is known as Sidereal. It is slightly different from the one most Westerners use, which is called Tropical.

The difference is quite simple: due to the wobble of the Earth on its axis, the position of the stars changes. It takes about 26,000 years to go through a complete cycle. That means the position of the signs moves through the zodiac at a rate of about one sign ever 2,200 years. It moves in what we would call the reverse order of the zodiac. So in about the year 0 we left the age or aeon of Aries and moved into Pisces. Now we are moving into Aquarius. This means that most people's Sun Sign (the one we think of when someone asks, "What sign are you?") is off by one. Since astrology works with relationships between planets, however, those relationship are the same whether using a Tropical or Sidereal zodiac. The only difference is the background (the signs and houses) in which they play. (Why Westerners use the Tropical zodiac is due to reliance on one book called Tetrabiblios, but that's another story).

With Indian astrology, the houses and signs align. With Western astrology they rarely align. So the signs in the philippines would have been the same dates as Western astrology from around the year 0 to around the year 75. Then they would change by about 1 day. About every 75 years they would change another day.

Agree with you except the above line.
Tantriks are different.
A person specialising in astrology/jyotish is called an astrologer/jyotishi.
