I'm looking to learn a good silk through arm effect. 

(Magician ties silk around spectator's arn. A simple pull, and the silk seems to melt right through the arm) I'm sure you are familiar with the effect. 

Can anyone tell me where I can learn it ? (Without referring to Tarbell, whose course I don't have access to.

I sure would appreciate any help you guys can give.

Do you have Rice's? In #2 page 562, 563, 564 silk through rope could be done on the arm.

I don't have that encyclopedia. I also don't own a copy of Tarbell. But if I had the money, both tomes would be nice!

The Rice Encyclopedias! The best work known on silks! I hope to recover my four volumes. Working on that right now.

Just came from Hocus-Pocus website, there is Gary Darwin's Magic Museum Tour & Silk Magic, listed in the contents is "Silk thru Arm", don't know anything about it, just thought I would list it for a reference.

I believe there are silk through arm tricks in:

Marconic Silk Magic book hard bound
Reel Magic

There is a couple different ways of doing this trick. Some wrap the silk and knot it, and other version is a sleight of hand method which is very simple.

You remember I lost most everything in that Florida foreclosure? Well, my friend that owned the house went back and cleaned out my bedroom closet. All my magic was recovered...props, books, DVD's. I'm working on getting him to send me a box at a time. The last one cost $75 to get here!

We haven't opened the box with the books yet. He was in the hospital for a while, so it's on the back burner for now.

You might check to see if he could use Media Mail to ship books/tapes/DVDs to you; it can save a *lot* of money!
