Hi Guys
I have a quick question and would appreciate your thoughts. Is it possible and most importantly is it wise to present a lighting addition as a mentalism piece? In general, you would look at a set of numbers (say 10) and add them up in a fraction of the time that a spectator could using a calculator. However, if you were to let the spectator write up the numbers while your back was turned, you then turned around for a split second to hand them a calculator and draw a line under the numbers. (Literally 2 seconds)Next ask them to add up the numbers again while your back was turned and write the total down. After they have done the calculation, you ask them to fold up the paper and put it in their pocket or turn it around and cover it with a book etc. Having done the above you pick up a pen and pad and go about revealing the number they are now simply thinking of. Naturally, you would have to present this in an interesting and entertaining way. So I guess I am asking Do you think that the time misdirection would help audience forget about or dismiss the fact you turned around for a second as irrelevant? Also do you think if presented well this could make for an interesting piece. Many Thanks For Your Help. |

Well, I saw this thread and realized that you meant 'Lightning' rather than 'Lighting'!
Thanks, though, for that typo - I now have an idea for multiple outs revealed by blacklight! Best, Atlas |
