Bomb residue? They should have tased the little !@#$% and her mother. Maybe set a drone strike on the airport. The innocent people in the airport wouldnt be intended targets, but its more important to have a zero tolerance policy on terrorism.

Okay, I've read the article now. What assumptions are you talking about? Unless I missed something, it seems that pretty near every point he makes is prefaced with words like "seem" or "might" or "could" or "should". Where does he come flat out and make an assumption?

Those are the words that indicate what I mean by his assumptions. The post I was responding to was an appeal to authority - the searches are unconstitutional because Professor Rosen believes they are. He may be right; he may be wrong. He's certainly not the last word in what is or isn't constitutional. GW, btw, is a solid, tier one law school.

Flying on a plane is usually practiced by someone who wants to fly on the plane. Do you really think they do not want the other passengers searched. That gives me an idea. They should offer reduced cost flights that all passengers can board without being searched. Wonder how many would take those flights, besides you of course. My point about the sex issue is that people are not worried about being touched very intimately by another that they met in a bar but are worried about a pat down at an airport. Nothing like being protected in either case. Just for your info I am opposed to indiscriminate sex as I believe it shows lack of morals along with lack of common sense and self pride. But you already know that about me don't you? For some reason I don't like the idea of my daughters or sons or when they were alive my parents doing it just for pleasure with someone they just met and not really caring for the other individual. But rather letting drugs or alcohol do their thinking for them. Again it shows lack of maturity. If you and yours like and practice it that is your business. I guess it is just me but I would have a hard time excepting that my wife had a lot of one night stands and well with that kind of mentality why not continue. Unless you believe that after marriage these people just lose the urge of indiscriminate sex by some miracle. Kind of off topic. But I started it and after thinking about it went back to change it and it was to late. Then you picked it up and here we are.

I read the comments below the YouTube clip. And I agree with the person who points out that "there is no way she touched your !@#$%^" ....."learn your anatomy" ... Made me chuckle but I was thinking the same thing.
I don't know about her not being cleared to board the plane (I assume she was cleared after FINALY letting the search go ahead) but I wouldn't be surprised if she missed her flight ....... She made the pat down take soooooo long! Hope there was no one behind her waiting to be groped? They should have a "special" non invasive search by a fully qualified gynaecologist (thank God for predictive text on the iPad) ....... And female prisoners who KNOW how to hide stuff........ Sorry did I say non-invasive I meant INVASIVE......or take the greyhound, drive or hitch! As for the young girl in a wheelchair ........why should she be treated ANY DIFFERENTLY to anyone else (I say that as a disabled person who wants to be treated the same)? Now if they don't treat all children "with bomb residue" on their hands that way why treat her differently? I think the lack of explanation is a little off though. "Detained for 45 minutes" with approx 3 minutes of camera footage taken by mum? Mum did make a good point though "why didn't they test her chair"? Me I'd rather be searched than blown up in the air because they let some 12 year old disabled terrorist on without checking her (or her chair!) for bombs! But apparently putting said bomb in a wheelchair (or up some ones !@#$%^) is a way to beat the security! . The bomb up !@#$%^ won't work .....unless the bomb is removed before detonation. According to QI (BBC TV so it MUST be true ) an assassin tried to kill someone by sticking a bomb up his own bum (assassins own um). When he triggered it he kind of jolted up slightly then collapsed, apparently human bodies are good at 'absorbing' the blast. |

Having your carry on scanned and walking through a metal detector are all that is really necessary. There is no need to remove your shoes, be subjected to random pat downs or intrusively scanned. And the whole no liquids thing is laughable. The stuff of bad action movies. this details the steps one would have to go through to make a liquid bomb on a plane. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/08/17/......or_labs/ Most security professionals view the TSA as little more than a joke. Security theater. Theft from passengers luggage by TSA agents is rampant. http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/top-20-air......17537887 Logic dictates that if you can successfully remove items from passengers luggage then you can just as easily put things into it. So what's the point of subjecting everyone to needless and intrusive searches when the system itself is full of security holes.

Since searching is not an issue now then there is no need for search warrants anymore.

The Israelies have a successful model in place, but do we emulate them? Heck no! We're afraid of profiling and insulting minorities. So let's offend everyone equally. Drives me crazy. |

And that in a nation with some strict gun regulations (which are quite likely to become only stricter, see below after the ---). So be careful what you wish for / want to emulate. BTW, the story about sniffer dogs you were responding to had to do with practices in Britain, not the U.S. ... and the story actually indicated that the use of sniffer dogs was increasing, not decreasing, despite the public's complaints ... and fwiw I think a great deal of profiling is already going on in the name of safeguarding U.S. airports ... we just may not be well aware of how much actually goes on. --- Excerpt from http://www.theworld.org/2013/05/israeli-......lations/ follows below: Officials at Israel’s Ministry for Public Security says it is time to re-examine the country’s gun laws. “We don’t believe in a culture of firearms, or a culture of weapons,” said Moshe Dayan, who works on the licensing of firearms at the ministry. Dayan pointed out that Israel has no second amendment giving citizens the right to own guns. Firearms are mostly reserved for the police, the army and other security agencies, Dayan said. Dayan’s boss, the Minister of Public Security Yitzhak Aharonovitch has said big changes are needed. In a statement following the bank shooting incident, he said “limiting gun ownership is at the top of our agenda and I intend to hold a weekly follow-up meeting on the subject.” It is difficult to imagine that kind of statement coming out of an American official’s mouth.

Hardly a day goes by without a report of someone getting caught carrying a hand gun or other weapon in his carry on baggage. And I'm glad TSA has stopped them.
