Frank, you are so right! One of the thing we would like to do, is collate the stories, the thinking, and techniques that Don Wayne and his crew developed and used over Donís life.
To that end, Christopher Hart and I collected photos , notebooks and videos from Donís house for a future project... but there is a LOT of stuff to go through!

Both Chris Hart and I were tempted to have a contest and see who could remember all the 'moves' and the correct sequence... that WILL happen another time.

Perhaps you should get in on that challenge?

Absolutely! The interesting thing to me is that several of us learned "how" to do it but no one could match Don's fluidity in bringing these tools to life. I will always remember marveling at the elegance of him using those tools he created.

What kind of future project? Iíd be very interested in a book about his work, inventions, solutions, etc. I never got the chance to meet him or hear him lecture. Iíd love to learn more and learn his unique POV and thinking. Iíd pay top dollar for a tome like that.

Iím actually thinking about starting another thread on this topic. Iím concerned that the work of D. Wayne, A. Cole, J. Gaughan, among many others, is not going to be properly preserved. Definitive and scholarly books are the way to do that, imho.

Iím glad to hear of your interest in these older masters of our craft, especially Don Wayne , who I knew so well.
Donís genius was not on an obvious or superficial level. But his ability to problem solve on so many areas was unparalleled in my experience.

He once said that his greatest influence as a magic consultant was having worked with alan Wakeling. In that respect they were quite similar:
Their ability to create seemed full of endless invention... it was inexplicable and difficult to put into words

Are there any plans of preserving Donís ingenuity in a book or otherwise?

Like Jarrett, I believe he is an uncelebrated genius behind many modern effects and solutions.
