Greg's compromise in Devil's ACAAN is definitely in the right direction.

James,
You offer some good advice about just walking away. Patrick Redford's Hands Off is slick. I have yet to perform it, but it is very intriguing. I have a Mastermind Deck, which is more Open Prediction than ACAAN, however, you can modify it to be an ACAAN effect, sort of, if you just think it through. I love the ACAAN premise, but I realize Open Prediction is much easier to accomplish. However, when I have performed Open Prediction as sort of a stand-alone piece, it just seems to fall flat. It is much better when combined with something else. Bobby

As again, I will mention that:
1) I am fine with any version for close up performances (I probably won't even perform ACAAN in my close up shows, because I don't see how it fits into a walk about performances - it is too long and boring) 2) I am looking for a great version (Hands off, free choice, elegant, and presentable) for STAGE SHOW with JUMBO CARDS) ------------ brehaut (Greg) : Where can I buy your "Devil's ACAAN"? WOuld love to get it and read it!. Atlas: Be sure to PM me where to get this as soon as you release I will be the first few to buy this! ----------- Again, I'm yet to find a version good enough to put on stage with jumbo cards at the moment. P.S/ Have anyone seen Lu Chen ACAAN at the Essential Magic Conference? I have got the full pass ticket and EMC offer lots of good ideas to explore. |

Concerning "The Crusade".
I was privledged enough to be given a copy to proof read and review. I performed it last night for a dinner party of 10 people. Everything that MagicAtlas said in his description above is true. I used a borrowed deck and only touched it at the end for a very brief time. The reaction was amazing. Their jaws dropped. No one but the lady knew her card. No one but the man knew his number yet, when HE counted the cards the ladies card was at his secret number. It doesn't get any better than this. This will become a permanent part of my impromptu show. Ted

Ted,
Thanks for the feedback - Andrew and I put a lot of effort into this upcoming release and I am confident that others will enjoy it too. And for others looking into ACAANs, ours isn't the only one out there by a long shot - take your time and you will find the approach that is right for you. Best, Atlas |

A follow up on my performance of "The Crusade". I, of course, did a number of tricks in that performance along with "The Crusade". Last night I met one of the spectators. He hired me to do a wedding anniversary party and specifically said, "Do the one with the card and number." Can't do better than that. "The Crusade" got me another gig.

Ted,
Thank you for taking the time to proof read Crusade and spotting all those Tiny errors . I am really pleased to read your performance left a lasting impression On your audience and this led to another gig . Atlas and I have discussed that many new effects released have glowing Endorsements from the top performers but lets face it , Lance Burton could make An impact on his audience just using a cut deeper force . With Crusade the aim is to have feedback from the hobbyist who Works for his friends at the bar , the hobbyists who has a few paid gigs right up To the full time pro . Andrew |

As someone who has gone through the book, you'll appreciate my perspective when I say that I love this because it leaves the audience in no doubt that you are capable of reading their minds. It perfectly fits who I am and the subtext of the show. Best, Atlas |

Hi All,
I saw mention of "The Crusade" in another thread and commented there, but I will add my vote of support to it here as well. I, too, had a chance to read a rough draft of The Crusade and have had the opportunity to perform it a number of times. It's easy to do, all seems above board and fair, and the volunteers' are astonished... it really seems impossible. I know that many will really enjoy performing this when it is released and I give it my full support. Regards, Steve
