I just remembered, I should mention what I grilled up over Memorial day- antelope burgers, with fresh rosemary and sage from my garden; for sides, there was corn on the cob (wrapped in foil and grilled) and I picked up a mesh grill basket and grilled some vegetables- red and green peppers and red onions, sliced up, and grape tomatoes, all tossed in olive oil with sea salt and coarse pepper, and left to sit in the fridge all day. Just before I put it on, I added sliced mushrooms and tossed everything really well, then grilled it at high temperature over hardwood lump charcoal. The Egg can do open top cooking, but it increases airflow and makes everything hotter- that evening while brushing my teeth, I noticed my eyelashes were singed. Still, I wanted the heat up- I threw the burgers on when the veggies were done. Three minutes per side over high heat, and they were done, too. Everything was delicious- I really liked the veggies. My wife doesn't really care for peppers or tomatoes. Her loss, more for me! Smile

I can't see any Grillers in that picture ..... are they in the mist?
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

Try grilling thick sliced applewood cured bacon. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.
What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

Silverbacks grilling in a drizzle....hmmmmm, that's an interesting mental picture. In another thread I'd be asking who (or what, I guess) are they grilling?

Marlin 1984 and X-treem - Thanks guys. My outdoor kitchen was a retirement present to myself.

Memorial Day was 4 racks of barbequed baby back ribs slow cooked in the Grill Dome, double baked potatoes, grilled corn on the cob, and fresh garden salad.

For the 4th I might grill some silverbacks with a drizzle of ... Smile

Tonight I'm takin a stab at shrimp pot pie. (indoors) Smile

I was at an Italian Fest this weekend at Quaalcom Stadium.
A vendor tried selling me a shish kabab with only three pieces of meat.

"Shish" means six in Persian, I told him. False advertising I claimed,
unless he gave me three more pieces of flesh. There was a huge line
behind me, so he went back and gave me a new one with six pieces of meat.

I was mortified when I arrived home and Googled(funny how google is a verb now)
"shish".

To my dismay, "shish" means skewered because the ancients used to place
the meat on swords or scabbards. Somewhere in my travels, I was told it
meant six by a Persian. Oooops!

I love to grill and smoke as well. I've been getting more into the smoking side of things lately and I currently have a Bradley Smoker which is electric. To control it, I use a Raptor Power package and a wifi Stoker. The Stoker is something I just recently picked up and still need to get it hooked up to my wifi. My first smoke will be baby back ribs and a brisket, we'll see how it goes!
