Deacon Jones passed away at 74.

Growing up I was a huge Los Angeles Rams fan; now, only Rosie Grier remains from the Rams' original Fearsome Foursome. The Secretary of Defense is gone; may he rest in peace.

Ahhhhh man. He was a great interview, too. Interesting guy. RIP.

They say that Deacon Jones would have the most sacks in the history of the NFL, but back when the Deacon first started knocking quarterbacks down they only counted his sacks as tackles. In my book Deacon Jones will always hold the all time sack record.

RIP Deacon Jones

I believe Deacon Jones was the guy who started calling them "sacks".

He was.

He lived in Anaheim Hills, less than 10 miles from me.

I still remember his appearance on The Brady Bunch.
He was a former San Diego Charger and I was a fan as well.
RIP Deacon Jones.

I was home, getting a water softener installed. Four people, two cats, one dog, and a crepuscular, feral rabbit can testify to that fact. I expect that the rabbit will be a hostile witness, however.
