If you ever wanted this two volume set, http://www.magictrickstore.com has both volumes (brand new) for $80.96 (with free shipping), all you have to do for that price is become a member for FREE. I have wanted this set for a long time but people were always asking $100.00 plus for used. I just thought I would pass this on to anyone else who has been wanting to get them.

Perhaps the greatest magic volumes I own, and among the finest books on theatre, too. Mr Wonder’s essays on attention direction and drama would rank with some of the more articulate, insightful writing of Peter Brook and David Mamet.
…Oh, and the magic is sublime. |

I bought these two books directly from Hermetic Press when they came out. I agree with you Darcy what you say, they are one of the best magic books I own, hands down.

You got it, something Landmark didn't.

Authors will make money either way, whether you buy from them directly or from one of their retailers, won't they. And if everybody only bought from Authors then retailers would not buy any books from them. In top of that depending on your location (I live in Europe), ordering a book from the US nearly doubles the price because of shipping - therefore only rarely do I buy from the author, unless they happen to be Europeans. Finally, not everybody has the same amount of disposable cash.

Hmmm. That's a members price. Well, if you bought the book new from Amazon, the publisher would get the same cut, or one that they had negotiated, and the author would get the same royalty. This is clearly a discount being offered by the seller to induce people to sign up with them.
And whichever place you order from, it makes to difference to Tommy Wonder, whose wand has been broken (i.e. he has passed on). |

Thanks for the tip. I purchased and devoured the set (even though I already have the DVDs). There is so much more in these books than in the DVDs, and the essays are truly excellent. Everyone serious about magic show own them and study them, even when they're no longer available at this low price.
Magically yours,
