Mimesis Magic has some very interesting-looking products.
Wondering what Mimesis products you recommend (or not)? I recently purchased the .pdf on the Mene Tekel deck ("...Card Delivery System"). It was ok. A little hard to follow in places, but a pretty good resource with some pretty good info. I would have to rate Nathan Kranzo's "Mene Tekel Miracles" as the better choice, but Mimesis's offering is not without value. What are your favorite Mimesis Magic products?
My ex-cat was named "Muffin". "Vomit" would be a better name for her. AKA "The Evil Ball of Fur".

Just seeing this now, nearly two years after it was posted...but I wanted to chime in about the re-lightable burnt matches I just got this week from Mimesis Magic. I ordered these for a seance I've been putting together. My thinking was to light a match while pattering about how the flame signifies spirit, etc., but how a materialist metaphysics tells us that once we blow the match out, that's the end of life. There is, of course, no way to re-light a burned match, and no way for a dead body to become imbued with life again. Later in the routine, I then pick up the burned-out match and re-light it. Here's a review of the Mimesis product (Re-Lightable Burnt Matches):
WHAT I GOT: I received 20 burnt matches along with 20 unburnt ones, inside a matchbox. All that for a mere $5.99, plus a wonderfully honest shipping price of only $2.99. One of the best magic deals I've ever purchased. QUALITY: The quality of these gimmicked matches is superb. I don't know how Shawn, who manufactures these, makes them, and I don't want to know. They are truly indistinguishable from burned-out matches! I mean, you could hand one out to a firefighter or materials engineer and he/she would not suspect anything. Not only are these genuinely burned, but they matchhead has been skillfully carved, somehow, so that it looks to have been consumed already by fire. I have only tried lighting one of these, but it lighted instantly, startling the person I showed it to as a test. So, my review: 10/10. After getting these matches I'm eager to try other Mimesis products. |

I have one of their Better Fluid Invisible Decks, a JOAT Card and a Mene-Tekel deck or two from them -- all top quality products! I think their Better Fluid Invisible Deck is the best solution, at least that I've found for purchase. I would recommend it highly! I do agree about the book, it's good but I would have liked more practical information -- although it is worth having.
I will probably have to get some of the matches and maybe check out some of the other stuff on the site. Robert |

Shawn is my go to guy for any type of gaffed cards or deck.
He does great custom work, and it's always shipped quickly and the total cost is always very fair. He just made me a custom Sympathetic 10 set and some great shims. I first discovered Shawn thru his fluid ID which I love, but quickly discovered so many other things he can do. I've had him make me a bunch of stuff over the last couple years. Super nice and easy to deal with too. I recommend him very highly. |

Are they still in business? I placed an order and never received the email confirming my order.

Sadly, I think Shawn is no longer in the business of making magic related items. His website (http://www.mimesis-magic.com) is no longer active. I had bought many items from him over the years and enjoyed everything. His items were well worth the price as the quality of the items were top-notch! As others have stated, he would also do custom work and send any prototypes he had to make along with the purchase. It's a loss if he no longer produces such items.
Some of my favorites were the "snug" line of card products he made. |

You can still find some of his creations for sale through other outlets, particularly his ebooks.
I just purchased "Deceptions that Dare to Dazzle and Delight" at lybrary.com

Could this be him?
https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/s......02485463 Also, I have a color change deck trick of his. I can't find the first pages of the instructions or the box and don't know the name. There are two sh***ed cards with prices on them like the front of a deck. I can't find the box. The plastic sleeve the cards are in says, "MDCC". |
