I should have it Monday.
I'll let you all know my initial thoughts and then after two performances. One an adult show the other a young teen show.
I am getting so tired of slitting the throats of people who say that I am a violent psychopath.

I received this yesterday. I previously have been doing KING'S CROSSING with a decent audience response. But now...after viewing the performance and laughing out loud, and being fooled by it...this will definitely be going into my show. And the audience response was exceptional. Brilliant work Scott.
Can't wait to watch the explanation. MB
It takes 4 to 6 minutes for the brain to die without oxygen. I can fix anything in that amount of time.

Got this on Saturday and spent the last couple of days scripting it out, looking for music and just downright enjoying the potential. Another quality effect from the mind of Scott Alexander. I am glad that Scott discusses a little bit of history of the Cards Across effect on the DVD, because it turns out he and I think alike. I have always been a fan of the concept, but hard to beat Tom Mullica's or Mac King's version. (Ironically, I tried a similar routine in the early 2000's using a Don Wayne Dancing Hank gimmick, replacing the hank with a playing card...was never happy with it. This idea of Scott's is awesome) Scott's thinking brings a new idea, plenty of comedy potential, and as Blindside mentioned, a lot of possibilities for audience interaction and participation. While I pretty much know how I will be using this in adult and corporate audiences, I was grappling with how to try to work it into a family show with kids. Leave it to my buddy emyers99 to come up with a great way to use it with kids. I will take it for a stroll with kids this weekend and report back.
Also...while this presale offer of notes is no longer valid, I would highly encourage anybody who wants to build a good stand-up act to check out Scott's lecture notes that he included. Over years of doing shows, I figured out how to build a good act by trial and error. I really wish these notes would have been available back when I was figuring this out in the early to mid 90's. VERY helpful and well thought information. May have been the most informative 26 pages I have read in years. Out of 26 pages, I probably mildly disagree with Scott on half a page of info, but looking at all his success and gigs, I am probably the one who is wrong. I highly encourage anybody who might be picking up SuperFly, to spend the extra money and pick up the lecture notes on building a stand-up act. So.....Super Fly. Brilliant, adaptable, and well thought out. Oh yeah....I forgot to mention my favorite part of the routine. Not only do you transfer three cards, but this has the added bonus of having the audience pick which three cards will travel. I don't think that was emphasized enough in the ad. One spectator takes ten cards out to the audience and has three cards selected and returned. The cards selected are not known to the magician until after the cards have traveled. (By the way, magician never handles those cards before they are placed in the envelope after selection). But still, those three cards are the ones that end up traveling. Have I mentioned brilliant???? Thanks Scott. |

Just got this review from Kozak....
"This is Freaking Nuclear!!! It's a lethal, stage-to-audience guided missile d#ck joke that strikes, camouflaged, under the cloak of a mysterious card trick! This routine could end all war and bring peace to all nations, for all of mankind, surrendering to the laughter mushroom cloud, on the battlefield of comedy! Thank you Scott for keeping my arsenal, well armed!" Kozak, in Hawaii |

Word of warning!
I have performed this routine two times so far with horrible results! 1) The first time was for "Tiny Tot's Day Care Center". (The 2-5 year old class) The center director seemed very upset with me after the trick...and to make things worse...the three kids could not remember their 'thought of' cards! 2) The second time was for "South Austin's First Baptist Church" Father / Daughter picnic. The dads onstage literally walked off...and during the funniest part of the trick too! I couldn't believe it. 3) I am going to give this routine one more try at tonight's "Blue & Gold" banquet...hopefully the boy scouts will enjoy it? On a serious note I have been practicing this for the past two weeks...Going to MC a comedy festival and I can't wait to try this out! (For Adults!) ;-) Thanks Scott...you Freaking Rock my friend... This is super!! I see why it is called SUPER FLY. Very easy mechanics but yet very magical. If you struggle with comedy routines and are looking for one to add - this is one that can get to your juices flowing. Great work Scott!

There used to be a full performance of this on Youtube. I know at least three professional magicians who send Scott PM if he was willing to tip em the work or give permission to use one "extremely hilarious part" of the routine Yet again a professional polished routine.
