Ship yourself first class in a box with the figures head like in the Bugs Bunny cartoons. Smile

Why don't you try calling Tim's office? I understand the time difference would need to be taken into consideration:

Thanks Joe. I'm having him repaired, not by Tim though.

I did mention on my FB page that MJ may just be leaving, but after a lot of feedback from friends he's staying.

I mentioned this on my FB page and I have to say was a little annoyed when Tim Selberg decided to post a comment to my post. I simply said "..by popular demand MJ will be back as Number 1, what was I thinking" and Tim Selberg posts a comment "Good Question"

The reason why I'm irritated is because I have emailed him several times about the mechanical issues since they started happening with no response then the day he decides to post on FB that he will have figures for sale at the conVENTion (a year later) he makes this banal comment on my FB page.

MJ is a great-looking figure. You probably would have regretted selling him.

And your repair story, at least, can serve as a warning to the wise.
Thanks for that!

Aussie, Selberg posted a message at World Vents regarding the convention:

"I'm bringing 10 Figures or so and 5 styles of my all new Figure Carrying and Performance Cases.
Also, the newest Extreme Puppet will be with me. "The Drifter" is a pretty amazing Bum
character that has a multitude of animations available, including flapping ears,
stick-out-tongue, and a bulbous nose that lights up!"

Now we know why he doesn't have time to answer his mail.

I know I saw that lol I would advise anyone who buys a Selberg to ask about warranty including parts and get it in writing.

For Selberg fans, Tim was not able to get Vender space at this years ConVENTion and is not here. Apparently, he did not attempt to get tables until June which is well past the time when the tables are all spoken for.

Maybe next year.

I think he had posted on facebook, or worldvents, I forget which, that he wasn't going to have a table, though he didn't say why, but did say that he was going to have some figures and new cases with him for sale.

Yes he posted on Facebook and Worldvents that he would be bringing several figures and cases to the conVENTion but will not have a table. Will he be conducting sales from his hotel room?

Probably. People know he's going to be there and have stuff for sale, so if they are looking to get something he has, they will find him, and I guess that's no different than a lot of people bringing stuff they hope to sell there.

To be up front I'd never buy another ventriloquist figure from Timothy Selberg.

I understand a vent figure needs maintenance from time to time, but these mechanical defects began within weeks of receiving him. Of course I emailed Tim, but received no replies (apart from one where he stated he'd look into it). As the problems increased I continued to email him asking for advice but of course got no response. At no time did Selberg suggest repairing or replacing my brand new figure.

When I mentioned a year ago I was planning on purchasing a figure from Selberg most people here tried to warn me against it and I almost changed my mind, except that he emailed me with guarantees of having a new figure to me by a certain time and expressing his regret on what people had to say about him on this forum. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and my money then never heard from him again after receiving my figure.

One would expect based upon his self promotion as being the best ventriloquist figure builder in the business and the highest price range in the industry to not have mechanical issues within the first few weeks of receiving one of his figures (or at least be covered by some type of warranty). Since mentioning this I have received many forms of advice from other Selberg figure owners who have also experienced similar mechanical issues with their figures and had to perform self repairs. Even Terry Fator stopped using his custom built Selberg figure because it was "too noisy".

My advice, don't buy a Selberg ventriloquist figure there are other alternatives that look and perform just as good if not better.
