I have Joe Porper's Poker Chip Surprise. I really love the effect and the special pouch. However, I would really like to do the same effect but with coins from different parts of the world. I'm thinking perhaps a European coin, a chinese hole coin, and perhaps a Mexican coin. I don't want to give away the secrets to the Poker Chip Surprise effect, so hopefully some of you are aware of this effect.
Does anyone know of something like this available? |

It's called CSB or Copper Silver Brass And there are a number of great custom Gaffers who can make what you want for you.
Here's some different versions from one of our best gaffers: http://www.toddlassen.com/csb.htm If you don't want to pay an arm and a leg or wait a long while for custom work, Lassen sells an excellent commercial grade CSB: http://toddlassen.com/commercial/?page_id=344 |

As for the pouch, I strongly reccomend using this Himber wallet from The Ambitious Card for a CSB set:

Don't walk away from Poker Chip Surprise. It lends itself to a great presentation about working in a casino and keeping an eye on a shifty employee who handles that $10,000 chip.

Thank you Banzai and Leo.
Banzai. Thanks. I'll check out Todd Lassen's site. I hope he also has the non-gimmicked coins to go with them. The thing I really like about the Poker Chip Surprise is that in conjunction with the pouch, it ends with ungimmicked chips in the participant's hands. Leo, I agree. I really like it. In fact, as I'm sure you know, there are moves that can be done with it that can't be done with coins due to the "talking". So, I do like it, but it obviously carries a gambling theme, and I would like to also use a "traveling" theme. KJ. |

Banzai,
I just ordered a set from Todd Lassen. I see that he has sets with gimmicked and non-gimmicked dups. I might need to order the himber coin pouch, but I recently made a himber-like coin pouch in the shape of a fish. It's sort of a comical "big mouth" fish. The lips open on either side. I rather like it as it is an interesting conversation piece itself. I still need to make the non-gimmicked one, but I'll get to that soon. KJ. |

KJ,
Poker Chip Surprise is - as Banzai stated above - nothing but a regular CSB set in Poker chips instead of coins. There are a lot of different CSB routines that you can do with various endings. I wouldn’t just stick with the routine that it is sold with. Jim |

There are a lot of great routines for CSB, but one that I like that allows you to end up with the coins in the hands of a spectator is "Numistmatist" on Volume 1 of the late great Scotty York's Silver Fox DVDs:
http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S8288 You will need that switch out Himber wallet for that routine. |

Another is Jeremy Pei's The Ultimate CSB Magic DVD. http://www.ultimatecsbmagic.com/csbrevie......2012.htm
And here is a JC Wagner routine modified somewhat by Nate Kranzo: http://kranzomagic.myshopify.com/pages/n......er-brass Jim |
