Two old passe passe bottles I've recently acquired.

I would appreciate any help in determining their age and manufacturer.

The labels say "N.M.C. Special," which suggests to me that they may
have been made by or for the National Magic Company. Can anybody
confirm or refute this?

The larger bottle is about 10-3/8 inches tall and was made in three
parts. The body and neck seem to be steel and each has a seam. The
neck is some kind of non-ferrous metal.

The smaller bottle is about 10 inches tall and is made the same way;
except that it also has a mechanism that allows the performer to pour
liquid into the visible glass, then secretly fill the hidden one.

There is a finger hole in the back of each bottle.

Thanx

Thom

Yes, these are from the venerable National Magic Company (Chicago, I believe...?). Probably from the 1950's.

I recall there being three bottles for the comedy effect.

Yes these are from Jim Sherman's National Magic Co. and they can be as old as the 40s. Two bottles are a normal Passe effect and three bottles are used for the comedy presentation. I actually still have one of the replacement labels sold by Jim that could be ordered when your labels became damaged.
