The original Lord Charles looks smaller than 30 inches.
Yeah, he definitely needed to upsize.

That smaller Lord Charles must have worked well for him, it helped make him famous enough to do bigger venues that needed a bigger version.

I was looking for an early photo of Willie Tyler & Lester.
The only one I could find (quickly) is the record album cover (see below).

I think I have another one or two in my files somewhere.
I'll try to find them.

Here's a pic of the first Lester used by Willy Tyler.

Cool pic, Fonsy. I understand Madeleine Maher made both versions of Lester, but does anyone know who has maintained/serviced the figure over the years? For instance, who installed his newer moving arms?

Joel Leder has worked on "Lester" in recent years...I do recall Joel telling me that he made a mould of the figure (and presumably a copy, but I'm not certain if Joel mentioned that or not).
I also don't know if Joel added the moving arms or if Willie did that himself.

As always, thanks for the info, Alan!

I believe he was about 13 years old in this picture.
Life is too important to take seriously.

I used a smaller figure when I was thirteen than I do now, too.

LOL, I think everyone, well maybe not everyone, but a number of people I know of who made figures and/or repaired them, when they got one in their shop they liked would make molds and copies of figures for themselves.

If I'm not mistaken I heard somewhere that the moving arms of Lester was created by Willie and his brother.
