With its Map of the Hands and Map of the Deck, the ambiguities of description that had previously frustrated me were instantly vanquished. There are other more advanced books that I greatly admire and value, but this is my emotional favorite because it knocked down the roadblocks for me. |

Theater of the Mind, Barrie Richardson. It was the first magic book I bought as an adult, and probably the best. His generous nature was such a wonderful introduction into how to approach something that could otherwise be full of ego-driven self-promotion.
