I have about a $500 budget. I'm looking for a video camera- something to capture close up (on the street) and stage magic. I need to record a demo that I can send out so that I can start booking shows.
What cameras have you used and had experience with? What are the best makes and models that you are aware of for under $500? Thanks, Brannon |

I've got a Panasonic PV-GS31 MiniDV Camcorder w/26x Optical Zoom that works perfectly for me. I've recorded many shows and effects for lot's of magicians and clubs over the last few years. Seems like it was about $250 when I got it. It records to digital tapes and is easily transferrable into a computer.

I have one from Sony and another one I recently got from Aiptek. Aiptek makes nice cameras for low budgets and they are in crystal clear full HD! The model I'm using is AHD23.

I'm looking for an HD handheld to replace my flip ultra HD. It just consumes batteries and won't even tape an hour show anymore.
I'm looking for something of similar size, works in HD, will NOT auto shut off while recording if it's stationary on a tripod and would like it to be under $200. There seem to be a plethora of choices in this category. Does anyone have any personal experience with a specific model they can recommend? Thanks, Edd
