Hi!
I'm using rubber cement for several of my projects (extreme bu*rn, gaffed cards and so on) bu the only thing I found here in Norway was a rubber cement tube (brand: royal talans). I find it difficult to use this without creating a mess.. I've seen in several instruction videos that you can get a rubber cement with a brush fastened to the lid so that the brush is always in the liquid when not in use. Where can I find this and do any of you know of any store that ships this to Norway? Thank you in advance:) |

What if you just buy some cheap brushes and use what you have?
Try whatever Amazon ships to you. S |

You might try going to a hardware store and asking for "contact cement" and see what kind of containers that comes in. You may get lucky and find some in a jar with a brush in the lid like you're looking for. Also, check out the craft stores and see what the have. Crafts are the same to women...worldwide.

Check stationary stores for rubber cement. Hardware stores are not likely to have it. Products are often known by various names in different countries or regions. I did a quick search of this section for rubber cement related topics and found that there is a rubber cement made in Germany called Fixo Gum. I hope this helps.

"Elmer's Rubber Cement" is the name of the product. It is used to glue paper to itself. Thus it does not cause wrinkles in the paper as some paper glues do.
I believe it was mentioned that Contact Cement was band from England, maybe the same for your country. I have great success with white "Glue stick" for gluing playing cards together. This comes in a tube with snap on cap. It is kind of a white rubber cement. It is water soluble so it can be cleaned up with water. I find rubber cement comes apart over time. |

Know anyone from the USA coming for a visit? Maybe they can bring you a jar. How about any lecturers coming your way from the States. Again, maybe you can contact them in advance and ask them to pack a jar for you.
Still wonder about going to a local craft store and asking them what's available in adhesives. They might have the same product, just by a different name like calling it contact cement instead of rubber cement. Mark. |

Shipping items like this can be a hassle as it is flammable. You'll run into the same problem if you try to ship nail polish, lighters, things of that nature. Shipping CAN be done, but at a high cost.

In England I know they call Rubber Cement by another name, but cannot remember it. Just like they call "Contact" paper we use here for shelf covering or covers for different objects. In England they called it "Fablon".
Scotch Tape as we refer to package tape, in England they call "Cello Tape". Don't know if that is a brand name as in the U.S. or not. |

Don't know if this helps, but you may find it under its French name, colle caoutchouc.

Yes, Copydex is the British equivalent to Rubber Cement that is sold in the US.
Copydex is waterbased latex, while the rubber cement sold in the US by Elmer's is latex in a heptane and isopropyl alcohol solution. It has some toxic properties and is extremely flamable. I have never seen it in the UK, but I never really looked for it either.

I have traveled the world and the best way to get rubber cement everywhere is an inner tube repair or patch kit for bicycles and automotive tire inner tubes. Rubber cement is only an American term but in the kits all over the work you get a tube of glue and small rubber patches. You can use Q tips, ear swabs, or ear buds depending on what they are called in your country as disposable applicators. The brush in the bottle is not really a good idea it still gets ruined. In fact you can find larg 300ml bottle of the inner tube patch glue at least we did by the case load in China
