Criss Angel is bringing his vanishing act to Springfield today, according to the Missouri State University website, and the act is expected to involve “over 40 tons of Shrine elephants.”

On Sunday, the Facebook page for JQH Arena posted that a special event involving the magician is planned for 1:30 p.m. today at JQH Arena. It is free to the public.

By late Sunday, the Facebook post had been shared more than 200 times and had been picked up by several other local websites.

A follow-up post from the administrator for the Facebook page noted that doors will open at 11 a.m. today, and those who show up will be expected to sign a release because the event is being filmed for the magician’s upcoming TV series.
