You asked for opinions so here is mine.
I think in the first effect Spotrix it is obvious (even from a distance) that the card the spots are moving on is waffly and thin.

There's only one version on the video, trust me, there are a lot of possibilities...
For exemple what you could do is taking the card on one egde, then one point move visibly without any cover.

It's possible to adapte several methods to perform this effect, imagine :
You draw the 4 points. One finger cover one point and move it near to an other. Then you shake the card and the third point go to the 2 points. To finish, you show the card and the fourth move visibly to join the 3 others !

I work on an other version :
- More visual
- More "logic" for the audience
- The effect use also a part of mentalism
