Have you ever thought of making the swat up a bit like a card sword so that you could have a compressable bee appear in the swat ? Phil

Yes Potty time gets just about the same reactions but there is no swatting, so the Comeback Bee has a little more energy to it, BUT Potty time is about 3-4 minutes longer of a routine. The fact of the matter is that kids don't care WHAT the card is that comes back. It is conflict, and they laugh at it. It could be a picture of a rock.
Thanks for sharing the bee story Randy Yes Phil I have thought of that but I just felt the climax of the bee appearing on your back was sufficient. Kevin that is a totally AWESOME IDEA!!!! Where did you get your fly swatters from???

Just went online found different sizes. Similar to "Creative Magic bigger wands"
I start with a teeny fly swatter.. Then a regular size... Then a bigger one like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ARB......F8R9SJXD Finally made a GIANT one out of plastic fence at Home Depot: http://www.homedepot.com/s/plastic%2520fence?NCNI-5 Just try and keep them all the same color so it follows the gag along. |

While I like the trick I am not sure it fits the majority of my shows these days.
but I kept looking at it and thinking of how I would add this to my early learning center shows. i might get it. but thought I would share a funny idea that is being missed. i love to milk things for all they are worth. have a little "funtak" or what ever it is called today. sticky type tape or putty that is easy removable on one side of the swatter. then after a few swats of the card swat with the sticky side and the card will stick right to the fly swatter. you look down and see the bee is gone and of course the kids are screaming that the bee is on the swatter. it would get you some extra laughs. feel free to use the idea. i have a few more but waiting to see if I go with this trick or not. i do like the the vampire bee name by the way. sam

I just used these over the weekend for about 80 people, 40-50 kids rest adults- and it was one of highlights of the show. I did try out calling the bee, "The Vampire Bee". Went over well. Love the ideas guys- thanks for sharing. Makes an already super routine even better. RNK

Love the fun tac idea too. You can only use it with the first bee though.
I wish this post came into play a few weeks ago. Last week I filmed Birthday Party Mania 3 and I had an awesome crowd, and I performed the Comeback Bee. The fly swatter routine would have been a great addition to the video with all credit given to Kevin. Oh well. The new DVD is being edited and should be ready in @ 4-6 weeks.

Correct I would only do it on the first one as there is only one card at that point.
I'm still thinking about it. Might get this. Have not bought new magic in almost a year!

Just thought I'd share my experience of the comaback bee. I did an hour routine to 50 children and 80 adults yesterday as party of a street party I organised. The comeback bee got one of the biggest reactions by far - this is the 3rd time I've performed it so far and it's had the same reaction each time. The routine and handling takes a bit of time to learn and perfect but once you've got it down, it really is one of those sure fire routines that packs small and plays big. I've even attached a screenshot of me performing it!
Thanks Tommy for such a good routine. |

Got this a couple of days ago. Today I tried it on my 6-year old daughter. She absolutely loved it, laughing and jumping in the sofa, so this one goes straight into my act!

Love hearing this. Of course, I can't really take credit. All the handling of the cards I came to agreement with Trevor Lewis to use his handling from his Homing Card trick with I performed for years. I could have never thought of this handling on my own.
Trevor is a true genius and one of my inspirations.

I decided to perform the Comeback Bee on stage. I was a little skeptical to perform this since the cards are not "stage" size cards (as they couldn't be to large due to the handling)but I gave it a go yesterday evening. The stage was an elevated stage (approximately 5ft) and there were about 200-300 hundred people anywhere from 25ft to about 100ft away. And I have to tell you, the routine went over great and the cards were able to be seen by all! Everyone LOVED the Comeback Bee and thought the routine was hilarious!
Such a great effect Tommy!!! RNK
