He does own the rights but he republished Cardshark back in 2007. Darwin last year in the same thread asked if there was interest in republishing either Cardshark or Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table:
Please Vote for a "Cardshark" reprint -------- As for not wanting a reprint because you like the exclusivity, I guess I just don't get that. I have many collectible books on my shelf, if there was interest with people and the author also wanted to do it, I would be all for more people getting to experience the author's work. Our art is so niche and small as it is, we already have that exclusivity. |

I'm waiting for Cardshark or At the table, although Ortiz did say it might not happen anytime soon!

When I reprinted Cardshark a while back I said that once it sold out I would consider reprinting Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table. Well Cardshark has just sold out. So the time has come to consider reprinting Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table.
Considering the investment involved, I’d like to get a sense of how much demand there would be for a reprint edition of Darwin Ortiz at the Card Table. Sincerely, Darwin Ortiz |

Ortiz mentioned he was starting that in Cardshark due to the response towards Strong Magic. If this were to be done, I think it might be in line with Pit Hartling's reprint of Card Fictions where many of the comments were added years later. |

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. I assure you that I'll continue to monitor this thread as I consider my decision whether to reprint.
Sincerely, Darwin Ortiz |
