Apparently we are not doing so well in science education.
The revelation begins at 57 seconds in. You will learn that a spyglass enables you to see "the light from the stars and the planets, years and years before you would see them with the naked eye." Who knew? |

That's funny, Woland. Sounds like he didn't think things through too carefully.

In the third grade my teacher told us that if the Earth stopped spinning everything would fly off and she actually had a movie animation that said the same thing and showed it.
Being the shy retiring type that I am, I ended up in trouble that day. I really liked that teacher and the experience shook me to the bones. -Mary Mowder |

Sure the surface would get a big scour but this showed everything floating off for good because it said the spinning was the source of gravity. It showed big chunks of the earth breaking off.
Gravity would still bring things back together eventually unless it reached a stable orbit. The earth would not lose mass if it suddenly stopped spinning, which, now that I think about it, does seem un-likely (I hope). I may have too much time on my hands.LOL -Mary Mowder |

I had a woman tell me that I was crazy after I tried to explain to her that it is tomorrow on the other side of the international date line. All she could say was "how could it be tomorrow in China?"

Can this be incorporated into possibly making a time machine? I didn't know this but I did know you could travel in time if you broke the light barrier, theoretically.
Colors are Foreva. Numbers are Infinite. 4 every number there's a color. HEY! Eternity! Lets smoke a beer and drink some loud. But wait! I heard you was a six a plus a 6 ahhhh.

Yeah, but only forward. Theoretically, a year for you would be a much longer period (say, 10 years) back on Earth.
