Is there a method(s) for cleaning dirty cards that won't warp or otherwise affect them negatively?
I have some gaffed packet-trick cards that are getting a bit dirty, but are otherwise in excellent condition (little to no wear), but it seems to me that after I cleaned some Bikes with a damp cloth once they warped as they dried. Any suggestions? Thanks, Mike

One of the ether-glycol cleaners in very small amounts(just enough to rub the dirt away)if you have a science background. They will take some beating though.
(Note: This is not an ether based cleaner, NEVER use ether to clean your things) The fact is, you need to buy a new set. Period. Use the new ones for specs, and the old dirty ones for practice. If you don't want to buy a new set, consider doing effects that don't use consumables. Cards, rope, close up mats and other consumable items should be replaced when they can no longer be cleaned and show visable wear.
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

Erasers work for getting off grime and such.

Just be careful because you can erase pips with an eraser ( a little tip for those who like to create different cards for magic).

I just stumbled on this site at http://www.wackyuses.com and they say you can clean playing cards by putting them in a paper bag, adding four tablespoons of Gold Medal Flour, shaking briskly, then remove the cards and wipe clean.

After the cards start to get dirty I too change them out with a new deck.. you want to have a professional image... I use the old dirty cards for practice decsks or to make gaff cards.
