While your intentions and interests may be good, there are many factors that come into play when attempting to hypnotize anyone. Several of these things are trust, confidence and experience.
Most adults simply will not have these in a 12 year old, a 16 year old often or even a twenty year old or any beginner. They also more than likely know you aren't professionally educated or trained. Now add the additional element that most people fear what they don't know or understand, which most people including most adults do not understand what hypnosis is or how it works, they have many varying misconceptions of what they think it is. Then on top of this more than likely you are attempting to do this on family and friends, which are among the worse initial subjects, you will not likely gain their trust and probably not be taken seriously. Even if they allowed you to try to hypnotize them it your attempts probably would not be successful. This all adds up to very uphill and unfavorable situations. The only way to deal with this is to continue to study hypnosis, become known for doing so to eventually gain the trust of your subjects. Age is a factor many similar situations as well, it's just a part of growing up and being a kid attempting to do something in an adult world. If your mom's heart was failing and she needed surgery, who would you have more trust in - a 12 year old surgeon or a 54 year old, grey-haired longtime experienced surgeon? It's not your fault, but take this time to study, build and establish your credibility and let everyone know of your interest, study, commitment and progress. This will ultimately work to your advantage. |

Mindpro is absolutely right. The fact is that since you are very young the subjects may not have trust in you and that is a large part of hypnosis. Building rapport and proving you know what you are talking about in regards to hypnosis.
Get experience and keep learning the more you do the better you will get and the more you will know. It may be a while before adults let you hypnotize them. Keep calm and carry on. Jesse

I rarely agree with him, but Mindpro is right.
Continue hypnotising your school friends, building your confidence, and learning about the art. Eventually your voice will break, you will fill out, and adults will give you the credibility that is vital for it to work. But don't panic - the fault does not lie in you. Be patient!

The good thing about being young is you grow out of it.
