I wear Vibram Five Fingers. Exclusively. This isn't a brand reference or image thing, I have a form of chondromalacia in both of my knees, and wearing these shoes eliminates 80% of my knee problems. I'm just wondering if anyone else wears these, and if it would be problematic for shows. My performance attire is nicely dressed, with a vest and tie, and I'm wondering if a plain black pair of these would pass easily. I've considered making a shoe "shell of some sorts, but only if this may bring up problems. Wearing normal shoes isn't an option, as this causes me pain and I am only able to stand or walk for 45 min max unless I'm barefoot or in my Vibrams.

I was shoe shopping today and looked at the Vibram Five Fingers and thought those would really be cool. Of course when you are a kids' entertainer you can get away with wearing colorful & unique shoes. I didn't buy a pair today, but it definitely got me thinking about it. If the rest of your costume goes along with the look, I don't see any problem. Not sure they would go with formal wear though!

I wear diabetic sneaks for my every day wear, but on stage I wear custom made Adidas sneaks. They come in many bright colors and add that wacky touch I try to project on stage.
