Hi Peter,
I just saw your book test video, and noticed you really put a lot of effort into the emotional and artistic side of your performance. I think this is great. It reminds me of David Copperfield, who I grew up admiring for this very reason. Not saying you act like him, but specifically talking about the connection you make.
What advice can you give to us performers regarding connecting on these levels and how can we all benefit from it? Including the audience & performer.

Hi Man,

I think the easiest way to describe is is that it is like salt on french fries.

To make these moments really impacting use them sporadically.

If you put too much on they become distasteful too little and you won't taste it.

At the same time, not too little as people don't see the point.

So balance is the most important thing with emotionally relevant performance.

The best thing I have found it does, is knock us out of the pigeon hole box of magician or mind-reader. Your participants and audience are experiencing an experience as apposed to a show and the results can be life changing (without telling someone to change).

You connect on a deeper level and seem a hell of a lot more credible in the things that you do if you have a connection. To look at things artistically try to look at quotes surrounding the things you are performing with.

For example a photograph.

Stealer of souls or a way to hand someone a captured memory and moment in time?

(I just made that up) but straight away I have several ideas flying round my mind presentationally!
