Can't believe nobody mentioned this new book by Richard Kaufman. This is his most important contribution of magic in Japan since "Five Times Five Japan" and "New Magic of Japan," both of which were published in the last century.

That's a great offer from Richard. I saw a mention of this book in the recent Genii. I've enjoyed all three of his books on Japanese magic, including the Sawa book.
Perhaps Richard will us with a little more info.

Thanks Duaneberry, those are some fantastic contributors. This ones a no brainer for me to get. Any idea who did the illustrations on this one?

I didn't think Richard would be doing another book on Japan since they didn't sell as well (or maybe it was just the 5x5 series). Anyways, I'm thrilled that another book featuring magic from Japan is coming out.
Charles Hsu's youtube video of New Magic of Japan and Five Times Five Japan got me hooked. I love how Japan's magicians have very visual effects. Between this and John Bannon's new book, my wallet won't be happy. And I still need to get Harry Lorayne's Classic Collection 4. |
