Pete, thanks for sharing this week as our Special Guest. Most performers perform for their audiences, which I'm sure you do as well. But you also seem to spend a great deal of time (probably more than most performers) with magicians, mentalists and industry insiders of all levels from within the community, which leads to my questions.
What do you feel is/are the most under-used or under-utilized principles and methods in mentalism? What do you feel is the most misunderstood aspects to mentalism? What do you believe is the strongest principle(s) in mentalism? What do you feel are the differences in European vs. American mentlaism? I'd appreciate your thoughts, thanks. |

This is part one (answers the first question) Each question is relativly large. To ensure the wrong hands don't get on this there is a password. The password is the last name of the author of the book of steps. I purposly kept the hint ambiguous as I don't want it googled. Pete x |

Pete, Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my questions. It sucks about losing a fully typed out post, I can so feel for you as I've had that happen too. I so appreciate you then taking the time to record and post "The Mindpro Videos" - lol!
This has helped me to better understand your approach and perspectives, without any of the jaded outside cheering or influence. I like the thought and "level" you've taken things to in your execution. There are so many elements and components in mentalism. You just addresses one or two, so it is quite interesting if you approach every element with the same detail and approach. You do offer great perspective and room for thought taking things to a whole new level - maximizing the moment at each turn. Months ago I was asked to review one of your releases, which I did. I typically only do this to less than 5% of the requests I receive. I did it after messaging with you to try to have a better understanding of your work and perspectives. But now these latest videos allowed me to better see this in an overall perspective rather than just the one on one (in person or Skype) or closeup that seems to be so often discussed and reference. I look forward to hopefully seeing you use and apply these approaches to your stage work. Thanks again Pete, much appreciated. Now...where can I get these DVDs??? |

The last answer to the last question is,
I believe the scene over there is sooo much bigger and a lot more popular people here know Derren and that is about it. You guys have some of the most amazing performers and thinkers! I cannot comment on the performing aspect of things as performing over there is something I didn't really do (except in a close up sense) so I cannot really compare the demographics. However I did find that people over there were a lot more respectful and didn't often try to purposly mess things up. Which tends to be the biggest thing in this area. You have to double check everything in this area! My favorite performer/ writer of all time is American In regards to spending a lot of time with performers, it's sometimes nice to be able to talk to people with common interest. I consult a fair amount for Radio, live shows, close up shows, television pilots (this seems popular at the moment) and theater shows which means having certain connection is great So it is always great to mix with lots of different demographics. Thanks for the questions man really was great questions and if you ever need anything pm me man I am more than happy to talk anytime. Add me on skype Devioust123 I like a good chinwag! Pete x |

Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right!
