My main working shell set is Todd's new clad set in Kennedys. I really love it. He provides 4 matching coins but the shell is REALLY tarnishing and the coins aren't. Any idea on how to clean it so it will match the coins?

I've had the same issue with a clad shell (not one of TL's), tried everything, but in the end found that using a soft eraser, or rubber as we say here, is very effective.

Yeah it's a bit of work and elbow grease with a pencil eraser is the best non chemical way to clean any coins. The dirt and gunk get pulled into eraser shavings. In the end you got yourself some shiny coins.
Misdirect yourself regularly before you attempt to misdirect others!!!

Hi Everyone,
Cheap toothpaste is another cleaner that does a good job. Commercially, Simichrome (http://simichrome.factoryoutletstore.com/?cid=44378&chid=1&gclid=COOTn9O91rgCFa9_Qgodi1IAfQ) also shines 'em up nicely. Enjoy the Search! Respectfully, Paul Green |

I've used Goddards Silver Polish for years and have found it does an excellent job on all types of coins, even those that aren't real silver.
Makes short work of it too, although anything really tarnished or dirty is going to require some elbow grease as well. |

Here's a good discussion:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......&start=0 I have used Nevr-Dull on occasion when erasers and toothpaste doesn't work. |

The eraser did just fine. Matches all 4 coins rather nicely now. Thanks guys!

Pink pencil eraser to clean coins, then something like a Mars plastic eraser to give them a buff and a shine.
