Here is an animatronic older lady character to go with the old man (can be seen under slot jaw old man WIP).
She has animatronic mouth and head turn.. controlled either with a remote control or an on board servo controller programmer. This picture is of the end of the first day of sculpting.. Click here to view attached image. |

A lot of detail doesn't get seen from a distance.. but details like small wrinkles, pores and skin texture (see picture - all of the pores are hand sculpted one at a time) make a big difference in the final outcome.. thanks for looking!

How do you achieve that texture? (If you don't mind sharing) Amazing work!

I have a lot of home made tools that I use for texturing..I make them out of whatever I can find that will give me the look of skin texture I am going for. Depending on what area I am working on..
Some pores on certain areas of the face are elongated and directional while others are more deep and round.. Wrinkles can also vary a lot in depth, length and intensity. Try looking in the mirror to study how your pores are not just round dots. The reason I even bother with adding pores is that No skin is perfectly smooth (a baby comes close- but you can even see subtle pores on their skin) On people and creatures - smooth looks fake. Also, no face is truly symmetrical - so I don't necessarily try to match one side of the face to the other. Anyways, I welcome any questions about techniques that I use! Thanks for asking Matt!
