There has been posts on an illusion that consists of 3 spikes covered by paper bags or cups and the magician slams his hand on them attempting to miss the spike on each attempt. I need to know what this is called or a link to the posts.

Thanks in advance.

This has been out for several years, there are not a lot of copies on the market. I believe Bob Kohler stared it with his broken bottle version, but that is no longer available, I believe there is a copy on the market.

Here is one with a "Spike" in wood base that uses cups.

The one you are asking about may be the "Devil's Nail" it is no longer available.

Here is one that is similar.

From a search it looks like you are looking for the Chris Angel trick. The name of the trick is not known, and those in the know will not tell, except it is from Europe and coast $700.00 and is not fool proof as Angel hurt himself with it.

Perhaps you're looking for Devil's Nail (V2).
I know that Dynamite Magic Shop has (today) still one in stock.
Perhaps you can also find one in England (GB).
Beware of bad eastern copies!!

You can also perform it with a broken bottle.
Look on the site of Norm Nielsen, where it's called: Scott Alexander's Shattered.

I just ran across this version listed, Vampire!

http://www.sterlinimagic.com/new/vampire.html

This is a nail in block of wood version and it is remote controlled, all for only $59.95.
