This is a new effect by Ben Howard that I have had a chance to read over. While I have not taken the time to make this, it is totally doable. You receive the 13 page instructions on how to make the gimmick and the handling.

The effect is a full deck of cards melts into a closed box with one card remaining which happens to be the signed selected card selected earlier by a spectator. The box starts out with the deck inside and looks totally "normal". This has great potential and as Ben says, "it is not a card trick but a trick with cards". It is pretty easy to do, can be preformed at any time, and viewed from any angle.

I have no association with Ben other than reviewing this new effect.

Thanks:

Ron

Hi Ron,

I'm glad you like the effect! If you make the effect then I would love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions you may have.

Thanks again,

Hi RNK,

From what I can see Vdeck is a vanish effect, where as Case 21 is a penetration effect. The actual deck on top of the card case melts through, leaving the selected card ontop. With VDeck, the deck vanished leaving the selected card in the case.

How long does it take to prepare the gimmick. Is the deck inside the box in the end (to be shown)? Didn't see that in the video

Hi MagicBrent,

Yes, at the end of the effect the deck can be shown inside the case, then the deck is removed and can be handed out. The gimmick is easy to make, it should not take more than 10/15 minutes. Magicians already have most things needed laying around to make the gimmick!

Thanks,
Ben

No Harv, I have not had a chance to make this up. It should not take long but I am very very busy this time of the year.

Hi Justin,

I belive Peters method is very differant to Case 21. With Case 21 the whole deck and case can be viewed from all sides at all times during the effect. Also, I'm not sure if cased uses a selected card as a revilation. One of the key points of case 21 I worked hard on is ensuring the back of the case that the deck is being placed on is visible to the last second.

Thanks,
Ben

This looks like visual eye candy! I'm confused how your ad Ben says done in the spectators hands...it looks like the melt through is done in yours after them having picked a card?

Good question! With some practice the case can be placed on the spectators palm, then the deck is placed on the case and pushed through by the magician. This does take some practice like any effect, but it is well worth it!

Thanks,

Hi all!

For those of you who enjoyed/where interested in Case 21 or the idea of a 'Cards through Case' effect, I have a new effect available also.

It's called Transfix, you can see a video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhjCGUPZAyE and get more details of the effect at http://www.lybrary.com/transfix-cards-through-case-p-365943.html.

For those who are interested the effect is as follows:

Four random cards are selected by the spectator. The four cards are placed inside a card case and given to the spectator to hold at their fingertips.

Three of the four cards are removed, leaving the final card inside of the card case. The remaining three cards are then pushed through the side of the card case and the selected card.

This can be viewed from all angles whilst the spectator is holding the case.

The three cards are removed from the side of the card case, along with the fourth card from inside of the case. All four cards and the card case can be examined.

A few points to keep in mind:

This can be viewed from all angles at all times.
The spectator holds the card case and can push to cards through themselves.
The card can be seen, heard and felt inside the case at any point during the effect.
The card case and cards can be examined.
Can be performed at any point during a routine.

Regards Smile
