T Durden,
I'm glad it works. I took a leap of faith and bought the ijet USB. I do belief they only have 100 USB units left. I am not sure if they can produce anymore. Which switch setting are you using in the USB stick? PowerPoint, iTunes or AV?

I tried it and it does not work on my Razr.
After adding songs to a playlist, it says it can't find my SD card then removes them from list. I can play songs individually but if I cant make a playlist the app is useless to me. I emailed the dev and have gotten zero response.

Try a different SD card. If that dosnt work, buy or borrow a tablet with Android.
The problem with the software is with the hardware. Too many different devices. In all honesty you might have to get a tablet.

I have a tablet but I don't want that size.
Funny how it recognizes the SD card because it sees the music and can play it but won't add them to a playlist. Very weird. Guess I'll just use my iPod with an Ijet.

Sorry I just read your message today, I was out of Office for a couple of days.
We figured out that some Apps which are synchronizing your Android device with iTunes (SyncR for example) will manipulate the media-database of the android-system. Best Boy Sound Control is using this database and this may cause problems. If you have a problem like this you can try this: - Connect your device to a computer and create a new folder for your show-music. - Copy the songs you need (best as mp3-files) into this folder. - Try to create a playlist with these songs. Hope this will help – if not don’t hesitated to contact me via mail. |

Hi Guys,
I just got my setup which is perfect for me! Samsung Galaxy S3 + Samsung Multimidia Dockinstation which has 3 full USB ports so now I can charge my phone while using Best Boy, it has a Stand. The Dockingstation would also work with the Galaxy Tab 3 Productline as well as the Galaxy Note 8,0. Best wishes, Stefan |

Flosch-
Thank you for the recent update to the Best Boy app. The autostop option and the horizontal screen display option are great. I tried to leave a glowing review in the Play Store but for some reason it wouldn't let me post. I also just realized that both of my remotes (the thin white one that came with the iJet USB reciever, and the additional keyfob/v2 remote I bought) will both work to send a signal to the device without any restart or remote set-up. This means we can have one remote with us (I plan to attach mine to one of those retractable "lighter leashes" on my belt) and another remote elsewhere (inside a prop or table or propcase). This entire arrangement is a godsend. Thanks again! |

Question for Gothike or anyone else who might know...
I use Best Boy on a Samsung Galaxy S4, but I would like a backup device with Best Boy also. None of my other phones are compatible with USB-OTG, and I would prefer to not purchase a tablet for just this (but I will if what I'm about to ask is not workable)... As I always have my laptop with me at gigs, installing Best Boy onto it would be ideal (as the computer is compatible with USB remotes and the screen is large)... I realize that Best Boy is a mobile app, so I installed something called "Bluestacks" on my laptop, which is an Android emulator. I got Best Boy installed within Bluestacks, and it opens and runs fine. Unfortunately, the list of songs to add to a playlist does not show up. Do you have any idea where on my laptop Best Boy is searching for the songs? On my Galaxy, Best Boy looks in my "Music" folder... but where is the equivalent of that folder when operating Best Boy through Bluestacks on my PC? Alternatively, is there a PC version of Best Boy, or a similar program which allows skip/stop fade-out and cue-up of the next track)? Thank you for your time. |

Hi, I'm having vacation right now. So I can give you a detailed description as soon I will be back. Maybe this link will help:
http://7labs.heypub.com/tips-tricks/how-......ows.html To access data into bluestacks is a little bit tricky. So you may Google for bluestacks access files - you will find a lot of how tos. |

Thank you. I had also sent an email to the developer support email - but wasn't sure if that was you. So sorry for the multiple messages you'll get and/or have gotten about this exact same topic.
I've been Google-ing like crazy to try to figure this out, but if I do, I'll post it here just in case it proves helpful to anyone else. |

Sorry to interrupt a thread, but I think I have a simpler solution...
If you have a laptop and want to set it up to run sound cues, I wouldn't suggest you go through all the effort to run Android in an emulator. Instead, run Winamp. I've had a site up that explains how since 2000. You may be able to use the same remote with both; you'll have to figure out how to configure your remote - look in Winamp's "Global Hotkeys" section of the preferences. http://remotelaptop.tripod.com/ - This site has all the info you'll need except for configuring Global Hotkeys. TDurden,
You can use the Ijet USB keyfob and Winamp. It works and you'll love it flexibility. Go to Jeff's site and also check this one out. http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=11

I downloaded the trial version, and I am also having problems on my Droid Razr Maxx. Every time I add the file to a playlist, it says that it can't find the file. I tried to create a separate folder for my show music, but that didn't help. Does anyone know how to remedy this? I've spent quite a bit of time trying to get it to work and am about to give up.

Thank you Jeff and Gothike. I'll get Winamp and check out your site. Thought it would be nifty to have the same app on multiple systems, but... yeah... that BlueStacks was starting to drive me mad.
K.I.S.S. I still think a dedicated PC version of Best Boy would be neato. It really does look great on a 17" screen. |

Socalmagic - have you tried deleting your playlists, deleting the songs in your phone's music folder, then reloading the music into your phone and creating a new playlist? If you moved tracks to a different folder or changed the name of the source track (song) after said songs were already in a playlist, Best Boy will no longer know the destination and you'll get an error. Or try uninstalling and reinstalling Best Boy - maybe something went goofy in the initial installation.
Sorry I don't have a more definite answer - as you can see by all my posts in this thread, I'm pretty new to this whole thing too. But these suggestions are what I would try. |

Guys,
Its worth noting that if you lose your iphone, you can always download your purchased showcues app onto your new device for FREE. Assuming you buy another iphone, ipod or ipad. Quote:

The Winamp set-up is great. And I'm making large custom album art images for each track (containing both track number and name of routine), and setting the album art to display huge (half the screen) so it can be sseen from across the stage.
Thank you once again, gents. |

In fact there is a version of best boy for windows. Best Boy exist for over 5 years now and started with as a remote system for PCs.
(Check out http://www.bestboyremote.com - upper left corner you can switch the language to english) There is a new version of the remote control system - this will be released at the end of the year. (It's smaller USB-Stick) I would love to sell this system in the USA but I can't cause of the FCC-Regulations. (To get a FCC-certification would be to expensive) It will come with a PC-Software which controls winamp with nearly all features you know from the Android-Version. The only problem is - it will only work with the best boy remote system. T. Durden asked how to get the music into bluestack. That's the way I did it: First of all you need a Data-Explorer. I used the ES-Explorer - you can download this direct from BlueStacks. Copy the music you need on a USB-Stick - plug it in and restart BlueStacks. Start the ES-Explorer and create a new Folder for your music. Click on "bstFolder" - you will find your USB-Stick there (Folder "Dynamic-Folder...") Select the Files (Button "select" in the top) and copy the files (Button "copy" in the top) Navigate back to the created folder and paste the files there. Restart BlueStacks and BestBoy will find your music. There is also a HowTo youtube Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAeqG2LGzIg Under the Folder "bstFolder" - you will find some shared-folders as well. So it should be possible to copy the files to one of this folders. I did it with the USB-Stick and it worked. |
