You would have to be completely and utterly one hundred percent insane to even consider pre-ordering this.

Well, at least there is enough info to get my head around what this actually is. Taking photos on the fly with any digital camera that make people appear to be levitating, without digital manipulation or revealing to the subject how you made this happen, as no visible levitation is witnessed by anyone. Cool, I wonder how far north of $25 this is going to end up after the "special."

There is not enough info in the ad, sorry to say. There is stuff being left out.

The ad looks to have enough info:
http://www.emagicsupply.com/index.php?ma......s_id=422 Q. Is it easy? A. It's simple in concept, like painting. A child can do it but the quality of your pieces will improve as you practice the technique. Q. Is anyone else "in on" the trick? A. No. With minimal audience management you will be able to take an authentic-looking levitation photo and neither your subject or any audience member will know how you did it. Q. Is this an app? Do I need a device? A. No. This is not an app or piece of software. You can perform it with a borrowed camera and you just point, shoot and share. What is being offered here is a low-tech solution to a high-tech puzzle. A very simple technique allows you to create visually STUNNING photographs that have to be seen to be believed. |

Honestly, I'm not sure how that shadow is created and I'm intrigued.

Am I the only one who thinks the sample photos make the "secret" here painfully obvious? It would take some experimentation to get it right, but the fundamental concept is pretty clear, and likely to be worked out by many people...
Seems more like an internet meme than a magic trick. If Reddit gets one look at this, there will be hundreds of homemade levitation photos within an hour. |

Am I crazy in believing that this is not a trick? I still don't get what the spectator "experiences". If they were to experience some sensation and then when they doubt it, a photo reinforces it, causing a conundrum of what is reality, that's cool! But this reminds me if a photo you get taken at the entrance of an aquarium where you look like you're being chomped by a shark. Nice souvineer but no one actually believes ANYTHING. Am I being too cynical here of am I spot on?!

Well, now that the photos have been added, this is pretty disappointing.

If the photos are disappointing, wait till you see the teaser, LOL (or as they like to say, a "demo")...

I don't think this is a magic trick per se. But rather a clever piece that can be done as sort of a marketing ploy. You do a show for people then afterwards take photos of them levitating. This would be great with a Polaroid camera. Though if I was using it as a marketing ploy, I would set up a spot where it really looked like they were levitating in the air for photos. Like a small pedestal they could step onto that looked like it was floating.

You are right, this is not a magic trick. It's simply digital manipulation.

Painfully obvious? Yes, I think so, even for a layperson. This is marketing genius, that's for sure. The claims can all be substantiated--from what I can tell, after discovering the secret after 30 seconds. It's clever, but marketing even more so.
Agreed that this will be more of a stunt or bar bet at parties than a true levitation effect for all to see. |

I'd never do it myself, but I can see this being immediately ripped off. Heck, the puddle photo may have inspired that already!

There is a phone app called levitation cam that does a better job of creating a photo of someone levitating. It's a fun camera app that can make objects appear to be floating. And it's easy to use.
If the spectator doesn't experience the levitation, but only see's it happening from a photo, then I can't see how this is magic.
Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.
