A friend of mine is a drummer in a highland pipe band and does tricks for other members on the long bus journeys and between sets. He is looking for ipromptu tricks he can do with a drumstick.
Has anyone any ideas ? The sticks are very thick, more like walking sticks, so ring on wand type of thing are out, as of course are pencil tricks. Thanks Eddie |

Fl!p Stick. I've done it with Timbale sticks which are even thicker than the traditional drum & bugle or pipe band sticks.
Richard Himber used to do the shell wand bit with a drumstick. That would be petty good, situation allowing, of course. Rope, Knots & Wand by Shigeo Takagi is a goodie, too, as his Ghostly Silk, where you could substitute the drumstick for the silk held by the spectator. See "The Amazing Miracles of Shigeo Takagi," by Kaufman for both of these. Hope this helps! Lee Darrow, C.Ht. http://www.leedarrow.com

Drumsticks production via sleeving, or if you guys are into topit work you can switch a drumstick to toothpics. The paddle move is great too. Check out Mark Jenest's no. 2 effect with a pencil and just work it out with your sticks. I've been playing drums for 33 years and I've been doing magic for about 20 or so years, and I've done these effects I've mentioned. Good luck to your friend.
