I already said I presumed it couldn't be inspected and so wouldn't go into the things I do for these groups, but if I was wrong, that would be fantastic. Regarding angles - will the angle issue of, as just one example, being surrounded during a performance no longer be a problem after the reveal? |

I think thete will be angle issues from the sides before the reveal. It is obvious to magicians what is happening but I do not think anyone could be sitting at a 45 degree angle when performing. I don't think this could be done closer than 10 - 15 feet. You will definately have to have distance. The video demo angle is straight on.

I respect all of you who want to see The Clarity Box first-hand before committing to buy, but I'm not going to lie - the willingness a few people have to publicly state, definitively, things that are simply not true is staggering.
Let me try to help, after which I need to pack for Magic Live: The Clarity Box is based on Bruno Hennig's card-to-canister, one of the most effective sequences in all of magic. Many other people have created boxes with which to perform the Hennig sequence (some cost in the $150 range) and a few are clever, but the plot remains the same - a box of some kind contains an unknown item. The Clarity Box changes the plot - the item isolated in the box is known. This distinction opens the doors to some presentations. Other examples of known items on display include gimmicked bulldog clips, or the popular paper clip switch. Obviously, the use of an elegant acrylic box that can have the look of a museum showcase or a break-glass-in-emergency container changes the aesthetic. It is also deceptive, even at close range. The price will be $80. I am including the ad copy as it answers some additional questions: David Regal’s Clarity Box Card to canister… with a clear difference. When unveiled at The Magic Castle, magicians returned over and over to watch the moment that seemed impossible… when a card that had been isolated within a clear box turned out to be a spectator’s signed selection. The folded card was never out of sight. It was spilled out of the box and cleanly unfolded, yet it was the signed card. That, in essence, is The Clarity Box. The object need not be a card. It can be a signed bill, or a prediction – truly a utility prop. This twist on Bruno Hennig’s classic card-to-canister effect possesses a clear difference: The object that is to be visibly spilled from the container is in plain view at all times. The quality of The Clarity Box is exquisite. Custom-fashioned from thick, sparkling acrylic it has the look of a miniature museum showcase. * The Clarity Box is practical. Its base measures only 2x2.5 inches – place it anywhere. And it resets in a second. * The Clarity Box is customizable. Use supplied design ideas or make up your own. * The Clarity Box is simple. You will enjoy watching yourself demonstrate it in front of the mirror… and be amazed. Contains: One custom-made Clarity Box, folded card gimmick, extra blank gimmick (for customization), art for design options, instructional DVD. *** And there will be an ad of more lengthy quotes than what I slapped onto the teaser: David Regal’s Clarity Box is the most magical revelation of a playing card I have seen. Trust me on that. Dean Dill Every once in a while, magicians strike gold. David Regal has created and produced the perfect close-up illusion. Jim Steinmeyer There have been several versions and improvements on the Bruno Hennig card box, but David Regal's version is one that I feel Bruno himself would highly approve of. It takes the effect to a different level. I'm certainly going to use it and if Fred Kaps were alive I'm sure he would do so also. It's the ultimate answer to an already ingenious revelation. Johnny Thompson aka The Great Tomsoni The illusion is so complete, your brain will not even think “switch.” John Bannon One of my favorite tricks made better by one of my favorite magicians. Regal's take on the Card in the Box effect is shear genius. Mike Caveney Brilliant. So good you'll perform it for yourself. R. Paul Wilson Regal has done it again. The Clarity Box is clearly amazing and utterly, totally, 100% fooling. Andy Nyman I am very impressed by the thinking that went into The Clarity Box. David Regal is diabolical. Lance Burton David has taken a major step forward with Clarity; he’s really thinking “inside the box.” Nothing is hidden, everything is transparent – except the method! Bruno Hennig and Fred Kaps would themselves have been fooled. Simon Aronson Illusions are never clear; this must be magic. Dave Buck With The Clarity Box, David Regal has taken a classic trick that was already perfect... and made it BETTER. John Lovick This is really clever. I want one! Eugene Burger *** To each his own. Some will look at The Clarity Box and feel they have no use for it. For others, it will represent a long-sought solution. For me, I cannot imagine ever releasing an item with greater beauty or utility than this prop. |

I don't own either so don't get annoyed if I say something wrong. It looks cleaner than fob but not as organic

Like Bonnie Raitt said, "I miss Little Feat more than I miss being 8 years old." Thanks for the concerts + recordings, Lowell, Richie, and Paul!

This looks fan-frickin-tastic. On my way to MAGIC Live now. Wasn't going but I saw the demo for this and decided to jump on a plane... Kidding. But I really will be there and I will be checking this out.
As for organic... Organic is all about context. You could totally make this organic with the right presentation.

BTW, Bart's, you asked if this could be examined and then later said the video flashes the method. Didn't you just kind of answer your own question. I wouldn't worry about examinabilit? It's the cards they will want to see. Not the crystal clear box with nothing in it.
I've said this a million times but examinabilty is over rated. Even with family and friends, you can still manage your spectators.
