Does anybody know who makes/sells a real (i.e. solid) gold Himber ring nowadays?
I am researching now for a potential future purchase. Thanks ahead of time for any info. Regards, MJ |

Hi MJ Marrs,
The last gold ring that I remember being on the market was being sold by Stevens Magic Emporium. I just went to their site and found: http://www.stevensmagic.com/shop/signet-......nalized/ Enjoy the Search! Regards, Paul Green |

Hi Paul, thanks! I actually searched Stevens before I posted as I figured if anybody carried solid gold Himbers it would be Stevens. I guess I didn't search specific enough.
I believe that I will be leaning towards a perfectly round wedding band rather than the signet style. I have never seen a Geoffrey Durham ring, but I've heard good things. I saw one on an old email listing, but I haven't found any dealers who carry his rings. Back to the search! Regards, MJ |

I have a 10 karat ring, it's a signet
I believe that 14, 18 and 24 K are too soft. Even in real jewelry 24 K isn't used where there is substantial wear.

MJ... it is my understanding Durham does not sell through dealers, but direct. Last I heard he only had one left.

I too am looking for a 10- 14K solid gold signet ring. BTW- The Durham ring is excellent! It's 9K gold, so it's very strong and it locks closed...which makes it safe for handing out. When they can be had...they are sold by Geoffrey Durham directly. He is a fine person to deal with as well! He gets my endorsement 100%!

I don't believe there are nay "Solid" gold rings being made. The last one I bought that was solid 10K gold was made by a mentalist in the East Coast area, that was in the 1980's. The majority are now only gold filled or coated with real gold. This is do to the 14K and 24K gold is to soft for the Himber Ring. Most casual magicians would not pay the price now for a real gold Himber finger ring. It would be around $1000, that is if gold does not go higher.
Viking Magic currently list a real gold coated Himber Signet Ring. |

The Durham ring (just to avoid any confusion...) is 9K solid gold...but as Bill mentions, the price is up there.

Does it need to be solid? There are lots of gold plated rings available, if passed out nobody would notice.
