This is a pretty common effect that can be found in many basic magic books. I not sure from what you've written that you understand how the burn ash effect works.

Newmagician123 - Welcome to the Café. I recommend a terrific book from Joshua Jay titled , Magic: The Complete Course. This book and dvd are filled with great effects including one involving ashes.

If you're just looking for this effect, Penguin offers it as an instant download. http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/1147.
I haven't watched the video, so you may need to do some research on how to gather the information to do it, but it's pretty affordable, especially if it's something you've been at for a while, so maybe worth checking out. |

I'd definitely go with the Joshua Jay book, it has the trick I believe you're talking about in it, as well as a fairly large number of others.

From the Ashes was in the first magic book I ever bought, an old paperback with lots of pictures called 101 magic Tricks for Amateurs. If you already know how to do it then my saying, "Use soap!" will be sufficient information for you to get it to work every time.
