The demo is obvious the coin is flipping forward and back. Especially noticible when sucking through the straw. If if looks this obvious with Rocco doing it I do not see this being used in to many miser effects. Bob Solari has a similar effect out that is much more realistic and about half the price. Solaris effect comes with a misers pail and a jumbo coin.

This looks like the old P&L Coin Producer. Sam Berland also had one made back in the 1980's. These came with no coin, but a had a clip the coin of your choice fit into. Never thought of using it in any other way then for the Miser's dream productions. This has to have very bad angles, thus if you can stand just like the performers in the video, then I guess it would look very good.
If you want to do Miser's Miracle of catching coins in the air, then this is a good device. It will take you some time to be as smooth with it as Rocco is. I don't see this as an open the box and go out and show all your friends kind of device. Now if it is spring loaded in some way, then maybe so, but for $40 with a half dollar, I think not, it would have to cost more then that if it was automatic working. |

Craig and Dave on the Wizard Product Review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kksyazV7Y......&t=5m21s
What killed it was Dave Penn demoed Flicker and next to him was Craig duplicating what Dave did ( Craig's actually looked better ). Even though Craig is one of the top sleight of hand wrkers today, he was only using basic slights. And I LOVE gaffs when they allow things that "up" the magic ( many times making it look like real magic ). I would have chanced it if it was $20 ( I like playing with stuff I might never use as much as anyone ). But $40 is too much ( even if I had $40;-) *Anyone remember as kids using a piece of scotch tape to do this with a quarter? |
