I found some of the materials at my local library. I am now fairly confident I could get someone in and out of hypnosis however I have a few questions.
1. How do I stop other people from taking advantage of my hyptonizee by giving them commands. 2. If you can't induct someone how do you gracefully put it off? 3. Can someone get stuck inside of hypnosis? 4. When performing a full wake up how can I assure I make the person forget what they did but, not make them forget more? 5. In a stage setting how can I make sure someone is ok without keeping them on stage forever? 6. If I do make mistakes with the amnesia, or memory recall (and its emotions assotiated). How do I make sure it leaves after I'm done? 7. What's the worst injury that can happen from doing a simple induction. 8. How old should people be to be safely hypnotized? 9. What rules and regulations preside above hypnotism in tue U.S 10. Is their a good book on safety? After learning all of this being a hypnotic therapist would be really fun! It's kinda easy to do once you've studied your procedure and plan. And what are some sources that can get me qualified? It is amasing how happy someone can feel after you have skimpily described how happy they will be when they wake up.
Now you're looking for the secret. But you won't find it because of course, you're not really looking. You don't really want to work it out. You want to be fooled.

Well, I am going to be the first to reccommend training with someone who knows. At the very least, find someone in your area who does and roadie for them for 20 shows.

Yes, if you have to ask these questions you are definitely not ready for hypnosis or should be trying this at all.
All of these answers will easily come with proper training and a true understanding of hypnosis. I can promise you this...the majority of your questions pertain to what to do or how to go about it once they are induced (not inducted, that what happens in the hall of fame:)). You are focusing on the wrong thing at the beginning level you are at. More than likely you are not ready to induce anyone and will likely fail more times than not, if not all. This is not to discourage you but offer a dose of reality. Not sure what you been studying but it it seems by your questions VERY incomplete. I applaud you for your concern about safety, but you can't understand the safety elements until the foundational principles are in place first. Same about many of your questions. I think you have a very over-simplified perception of what hypnosis and hypnotherapy is. Are you a teenager? What resources have you studies so far? |

Intro here:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/searc......=8051974 I agree with the others about training. Also, get a hold of the books/resources which were mentioned when you asked before. You'll find most authors willing to respond to some direct questions about their material, as long as it's clear you've read their work well and paid for it. |

How do I stop other people from taking advantage of my hyptonizee by giving them commands. You can make it clear to them during the performance that they will only respond to the hypnotist. You can make it clear that afterwards they can only be hypnotised with their permission, when they want to be. Both things are generally unnecessary. It is rare that someone else asserts themselves as the hypnotist. Occasionally an idiot does and in these instances you have to deal with it. 2. If you can't induct someone how do you gracefully put it off? You can demonstrate something basic with most people. If working one to one make that interesting. Make that your performance if you have to. If working with a group or full audience, use the numbers game, do a selection and identify your best candidates. Finally take the pressure of of yourself and let them know it is about them as much as it is you. Clarify what their role is. You will get better results if you do. 3. Can someone get stuck inside of hypnosis? No. There is nothing to get stuck in. However someone can convince themselves they are stuck or that they cannot move. This is enough for them to appear to stop responding to the hypnotist. This may appear to be some even deeper special state. In every case I have encountered, despite appearances the only idea they had in their head was 'I cannot move'. You need to know how to deal with such situations. It is your obligation to ensure that they are clear, everything is back to normal. For example if you frame hypnosis as some kind of sleep or altered state, it would be negligent not to wake up or undo that state. In Israel hypnosis is banned outside of the medical profession and this seems to have happened because a young lady appeared to be stuck in a trance for 6 days. 4. When performing a full wake up how can I assure I make the person forget what they did but, not make them forget more? Complete spontaneuos amnesia for the entire show without it being suggested is not very common. In the words of Ormond McGill 'If you want amnesia, insist upon it'. 5. In a stage setting how can I make sure someone is ok without keeping them on stage forever? This should be taken care of in your intro. You can also check in with your subjects at any point. Just speak to them normally 'Are you happy to continue?'. Do this off mic of course. 6. If I do make mistakes with the amnesia, or memory recall (and its emotions assotiated). How do I make sure it leaves after I'm done? Do a proper wake up. Have it scripted to ensure all bases are covered. Be available for 45 minutes after any performance to ensure everyone is fine. Sometimes their friends will inadvertantly make unhelpful suggestions and you need to guard against these rogue suggestionists. 7. What's the worst injury that can happen from doing a simple induction. They equate 'sleep' with going all floppy and fall over. rare but it does happen. Never be in a position where this could cause a problem. 8. How old should people be to be safely hypnotized? They should be adults capable of making an informed decision. The fact that kids can be hypnotised does not mean they are informed. 9. What rules and regulations preside above hypnotism in the U.S I am from the UK. I am sure a helpful American will ride in eventually. 10. Is their a good book on safety? Yes there is a great book. Practicing Safe Hypnosis by Hambleton. I wrote an extensive review of it here http://www.headhacking.com/resource/ You may also wish to check our free training videos including some general Health and Safety tips here http://www.youtube.com/how2hypnotise Anthony
