Antonio, many of the people who post here share their money-making methods. The describe effects they're marketing and places they're performing. I think what some of the people may be objecting to is that seems to be all you're doing here.
I think most of us consider this forum a place to discuss things. Sure, advertising come up, but it's not the ONLY thing people do here. Even among people who disagree there's a level of camaraderie that doesn't exist when someone places a hit-and-run advertisement. One of the single most important things an advertiser can do is gain the trust of the consumer. One way to build such trust is to communicate frequently, even on unrelated topics. That builds familiarity, familiarity builds trust, trust results in sales. Does this always work? Of course not. The hit-and-run form of advertisements will have a level of success as we Royally know. The group here are "qualified consumers." We already have an interest in hypnosis and I would guess that most of us would be willing to pay for quality items from people we trust. Therefore, although hit-and-run may work where the consumers are not as well qualified, I would like to respectfully suggest a change in your approach: Come here and come here frequently—not to sell, but to share. If there's a topic that interests you and you have something to add, make a post. Make your presence known. I sort of agree with mindpunisher: for THIS group your copy sounds scammy. However, unless you regularly interact with the people here I don't think you'd be aware of what appears scammy to use vs. what would intrigue and interest. Even MP has a simple notice which is essentially ads for two products in his signature. I have disagreed with MP on occasion, but I have no reason to dis his approach for selling products. We know him. Those who agree with him and trust him would be likely to purchase. Just help people know you and come to trust you. You could be a valuable addition to this forum, and members of the forum will reward you when you have something of value to sell. |

Duly noted. I'm always looking to improve my copy. Any ideas on how I could have improved the copy from this webinar I posted about? In regards to the timeshare gig I've got going on. I try to be as transparent as possible with my customers. A good example of this is telling people exactly what they have to do if they decide not to book everything "right now". Before they leave my booth I'll always tell them it involves doing a sales presentation to get discounts. I probably lose more sales in the long run, at least I don't have people coming back and then learning about the timeshare presentation. On a very rare occassion I won't tell them (perhaps if they are complete aholes. I've had people come in my booth barking orders, a couple of people that were on the border of using racial slurs about other races in my presence.) We have one or two people that we work with that will tell people to come back to book the tour and say something along the lines of "when you come back I'll go over the details of the promotion". When they do this it ****es me off because I'll end up having those people coming up thinking they are just getting discounts. It ends up making me look bad. I'll usually use it to my advantage and tell them it wasn't right that they didn't inform them and I totally understand why they are mad. Its just plain dishonest. In a couple of instances I've had people that didn't make the qualifications to go the presentation to get the discounts. There was one lady who I could tell didn't have the means to go on vacations that often and wouldn't have made any of the qualifications to go to the presentation. She wanted to take her daughter on a boat cruise to see the coastline. I ended up giving her a two for 1 coupon so she could take her daughter. While I made no money doing this, it was still a win/win situation. I'll helped them to save money and I felt good by helping her daughter to have a great birthday. I digress though. Going to work on revamp my copy moving forward. Have a nice day, Antonio |

You come across as someone always trying to sell crap. The only threads I have ever seen you post on are those in which you want someone to attend somethinb.
I don't care what your day job is, though the fact you need one sort of seems to imply that much of what you are selling might not be the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow it is out forth as. There are lots of guys here selling things. Anthony for one. BUT he contributes a great deal to threads in which he is not selling things being generous with his knowledge. As are others who are selling stuff.

Not only selling crap but it's affiliate crap. Seems to me you are still in the early learning stages which is why you have these programs and affiliate relations. This and for your own learnability.
Do you have any of your own materials or is it all others? Perhaps he doesn't post here because he has nothing to contribute. We ARE NOT a hypnotherapy forum and that should not be discussed here. It is an entertainment forum. Because of this I would think (since you stated earlier that's a direction you are trying to head) you would have a lot you could learn here if you contributed. Secondly, aside form performance aspects you could learn, it's obvious that you have much you could learn about the business side of hypnosis which is also regularly discussed here. You can frame it how you want, but you have many obstacles in your hypnosis ventures. I've worked Hawaii and know some of the struggle you are facing. You have limited market area, limited people, limited execution resources and on top of that you are young. You do have the benefits of Huna in your area and tourists if you use them properly as an asset. I have a saying I express to my students that you can't hear while you're always talking. You talk to much yet say nothing. Perhaps if you were open to listening (learning) you would advance quicker and more positively than you have experienced. An important part of entertainment business (and business in general) is to first and foremost know your audience. By your efforts here you either don't, don't care, or both. The guests you have on your programs have nothing to do with the audience or format here (with the possible xception of one or two. Also like your timeshare presentations, they are a pitch...a pitch to sell something. So are your hypnosis program events. Call a spade a spade. You only come here seeking profit, not to participate and contribute. Your approach, attitude and inferred professionalism (which is quite sheer) is very off-putting and unprofessional. I would take the advice here and step back and take a better and closer look at yourself. Many here can help you much more than you can help us, so in my opinion you have much to gain and little to lose. We on the other hand have already had to put up with your scam approach and nonsense wanna-be professionalism trying to be something you are not at quite yet. My advice - step back, see the bigger picture, apologize ask for a take two and stay on format - hypnosis entertainment and the business of it. I feel you are quite lucky no one has reported you for your blatant advertising without being a paid client to the moderators here on the Café. This is a violation of the Café rules. It is often a bit more accepted if the person is a regular contributor here, which up to this point you do not seem to be. I hope you can understand these perceptions and the advice members here are taking the time to offer. |

I think after re-reading my last post it may have come of a bit more harshly than I intended. I tried to edit bit time had expired. I hope it's taken as intended and not as harsh as it perhaps appeared in one or two areas.

Antonio, they probably won't re-open their forum. It became a draw for spam that resulted in essentially a DDoS attack on their servers. The moderators deleted tens of thousands of spam messages (users of the forum saw few of them), but couldn't keep up. The owner of the forum is currently being influenced by people who think it is not a financial positive to have a forum. I've respectfully disagreed, and made my reasons known, but I'm not close enough to the owner to influence him. Now, about 90% of the email I receive from them consists of tasteless advertisements from a person who, I am sure, is a great person, but from whom I just have negative feelings.
It's a Taoist doctrine that "everything that is born, dies," and it was time for that forum to die. I had encouraged restructuring before it was discontinued, but another path was chosen. Most of the people have moved to HypnoThoughts.com. |

I have a strange feeling that one of the webinars I've promoted is the person emailing you.
