Ben Affleck can do a decent acting job when it is the right movie for him. I thought he was great in Daredevil. (The script had problems; not his fault.)

And the fact that this controversy has blown up way out of proportion can only be a good thing...
No such thing as bad publicity and all...

All the above being said, I love all these comic book movies and will see them no matter who is cast. It is fun- I had a big comic book collection when I was a kid (and of course my mother threw them all away after the cat peed on them while I was away at college).
Kinda like "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone"- I really did enjoy watching that movie. BWonderstone was not earthshaking like when I first saw "2001 A Space Odyssey" in the theatre which bugged my brain for days, but I still thought it was good for a laugh or two. I thought Payne overstated in MAGIC how magicians were betrayed in BW, I found B&A to be good guys in the end- and laughed out loud at the final scene when they were loading up the hauling truck. I really do hope Ben Affleck does a fine job as Batman, and if they need his name to sell more tickets, so be it. "Good Will Hunting" was a great movie needless to say. |
