I just received this e-mail from the Cuckoo's Nest Magic Shop. I can't verify whether it's true or not but I don't think Tom would put something like this out if he were not 100% certain it was in fact true.
Just got word that Morrissey Magic is no longer in business. We have a limited supply of their products still in stock. Obviously we don't know if we'll be able to re-stock. Check out the web site or call the shop to check stock. We'll be taking them off our site as we run out. |

I worked hard today to find a Morrisey Chop Cup to purchase. Almost everyone is sold out. I am sorry to see them go.

I was a regular customer at Morrissey's shop for years. It's sad that they decided to close down.
That was quite a shock to me when a friend of mine called with the news that they were going out of business. As we all know Morrissey made some of the nicest products on the market today. We'll miss all of that and more. Dan and Phoebe are two of the nicest people behind a magic counter and it was a pleasure going in the shop to talk or buy magic. Magic has lost a wonderful couple in the magic business. I wish Dan and Phoebe all the best in whatever they venture in. I will surly miss them. Ricky |

The closing of Morrissey Magic is a loss for the magic community. However, D. Robbins bought all of their remaining stock. You can check out http://www.ezmagicrobbins.com/ to see what is still available. You had better buy it now, as I am sure the stock will sell out fast.

It is the end of an era.
The owners were very nice people who made quality products and stood behind everything they sold. I wonder if all of the cheap imports diminished their sales. This happened with Rocco and his D'Lights as well as with Fantasio and his canes. I hope that Morrissey Magic didn't fall victim to the same problem. I hope that the owners were just of the belief that after a very successful run, it was time to call it a day and retire to pursue a more relaxing lifestyle. To Morrissey: Thanks for making such wonderful, quality products that will be passed on from magician to magician for generations to come! Peter Cuddihy |

I rarely visit Toronto, but I have made a habit of dropping into Morrissey's on every trip. I very much appreciated the courtesy and genuine interest I was given. This is indeed a sad day in Canadian magic.

They made great cups! I had their copper chop cup, best ever, great weight and look. It was stolen when m old house was broken into.
I went to order a new one from penguin and they are out of stock... I bought a mini copper version they had left, along with a full size brass Bazzar de Magicia one. Def not the same quality as Morrissey despite being the same price. I will have to hunt one down before they're all gone. |

For those looking for Cups and Balls by Morrissey, here is a set specially commissioned by Magic Inc. to make the Louie Ireland large Cups, at a great price. I purchased a set and the sticker inside says Made in Canada.

This really hurts. I went through a move a few years ago where I lost the majority of my magic gear. All my metal cupS and rings etc. Were all made by Morrisey becauwe I knew they were quality. When I came back to magic it was with the idea of saving up enough to buy most of what I lost from Morrisey again. The loss to the magic community is tremendous. (Yes I live in the U.S but I never heard of a shop that has has a better track record of quality and costumer service at such affordable prices.)

I've been using Rings 'N Things 2's Paul Fox Cups & Balls, and when I took out my old Morrissey's, I could not believe I ever performed with them! Same with the Zombie. My Ickle Pickle blows that thing away! The Morrissey halves don't even FIT right. Now, the Morrissey Chop Cup I like. It works perfectly. Doug |
