I am entertaining the kids with magic before their movie this weekend, I think I'll set up a table, what tricks do you think would be good for this? should I justrun through my kids show? the problem its for a whole hour so I can't really repeat any tricks cos people will be watching for most of the hour? should I combine my street show and kids show? any recommended tricks that work well with kids? or any recommendations on adivice about anything?
Thanks |

Hi
I have done this once before - for me the key issue was lighting - even with the lights full on it was still pretty dark. So make sure whatever you take is highly visible If you are able to visit the cinema to check out the performing area a few days before I definitely would - not just for lighting but also to see how much of a performing area you really have / if there is a mini stage / slight incline. Hope it goes well! Cliff |

If lighting is poor as Cliff suggested, use this drawback to your advantage. ITR levitations, Zombie, Fire effects (if allowed), DLite, etc. The point is, you can get away with a lot more while accentuating anything that involves lights. And lean towards colorful props. I would also check out the acoustics. A microphone with monitor may be in order. And use the height of the ceiling to your advantage if possible, even if it's just to shoot deflating balloons across the room. You should have plenty of space from left to right, which is great for accentuating the length of production items such as many silks tied together as you keep stepping back.
