The best way to bring someone around to your POV, IMO, is one of the oldest - the Socratic method. Ask reasonable questions that result in responses from your "opponent" which, little by little, build your argument for you - in essence, set little logic traps that seem innocuous until they cause your opponent to essentially agree with your larger point. Doesn't work particularly well on the Internet, but face to face it's still the way to go. That's why it remains the favored method used to teach law school classes.
