One of the interesting things I saw in the dealers room at the 2013 KIDabra Conference, was ShowTime Magic Products.

I've known Christopher Weed for many years, and his newest company is ShowTime Magic Products. They got permission from Joe Lefler's widow, to take over his line of tables. And they made some improvements. They now come in 4 colours -- grey, black, red and blue. (My old table would be considered grey.) Still have the velcro compatable fabric.

As well as the top fixed shelf, and the movable shelf, they have 3rd additional shelf towards the bottom, that is like a trap door. That 3rd shelf is new, and allows for you to put some items into the very bottom. The tables are white inside, which is something that Joe was doing over the last few years. And Christopher sells lights that attach to the inside of the table, so you can see in the table better.

He also sells some velcro pockets that you can attach to various places inside the table. And you can upgrade to larger wheels.

The locks are nice, and slightly different from what they used to use... no need for a padlock, because it's a locking hasp for both.

He also sells a cover that has 2 pockets on the outside... one on top for business cards, and a larger one on the side for brochures, etc.

They had the large and small Lefler Tables there, as well as a prototype of the Hank Moorhouse Cube Table that Lefler also used to build.

Here is the new website: http://www.showtimemagic.com

Here is the Facebook page, which has many photos: https://www.facebook.com/ShowtimeMagicProducts

P.S. My current Lefler table is about 20 years old, so I'll likely be getting a new one (perhaps in red) sometime in the next year. I saw the new ones in person, and they are well built!

Christopher Weed is now making side tables, with a top that matches the fabric choices on the new colours of Lefler Tables. As I mentioned above, there are now 4 colour choices instead of 1.

And the table top for the side table, and the compact version of their stand, fits inside the main table.

--> 2-in-1 Shelf/Tabletop

--> Ultimate Table Base-Compact

--> Ultimate Table Base-Large

You buy the top and the base seperately, for the side tables.

I just purchased a several of these tables, table bases, and covers. All the tables I received were PERFECT...and build to last. The large heavy duty casters, locking latches, protective covers, and LED lights are all GREAT feature to an already great table. I also received very nice customer service from this company. If you are looking for these types of tables, you should take a look at this company...

Chris Weed is at KAX (Convention) right now, and has introduced several new products. Here are some of them:

There's also a new "FlipTop Table with an integrated HappieAmp sound system option", which will be on the website in a few days.

Thought I'd share the news. I'm not at KAX myself, but these are items he's been sharing on Facebook over the past week or two.

Thanks for the info, Donald. My old Lefler table has definitely seen better days ... plus my cats have destroyed the cloth covering!

Here's a link to the Travel Cover that I was talking about (in my first post on this thread). That might protect the table covering from the cats:

Thanks for all the kind comments guys! And thanks to my longtime friend Donald for sharing with everyone here. I wish I had the energy to be more active here but between starting Showtime Magic Products and a full schedule of shows, I can't be everywhere. We've been very fortunate to have such a successful start to this new business and customers have really been supportive. It's an honor to continue Joe Lefler's legacy. Donald has done a great job of providing an overview of what we are doing with new products and accessories. I encourage anyone who wants to follow us to Like us on Facebook for regular updates http://www.fb.com/showtimemagicproducts and check our website http://www.showtimemagic.com for the full range of products. And, if you've got questions email me anytime christopher@showtimemagic.com. Thank you!

I have three of the Ultimate Table Bases. One, I got from Joe, others from Christopher. All are perfect! Joe had great products and customer service. Christopher has adopted those same business practices. Couldn't be happier! If you are looking for heavy duty, sturdy, easy to truck around table base, the Ultimate Table Base is it!

Just purchased a large Lefler table along with a piggy back table. I ordered them from Christopher and picked them up at the KIDabra conference. He is very easy to wrok with and the tables are excellent. Thanks for the great service.

Just a reminder to keep checking back on the website or Facebook page, because Christopher keeps adding new items to the Showtime Magic Products line. Like the Pedestal Base for the Cube Table (available in both sizes, because the Cube Table also comes in two sizes), or the Celebration Series themed tables.

P.S. There's a Halloween themed cube table in the Celebration series, and it sounds like there will be a Christmas themed table coming at some point soon.

Yesterday, I got my new magic show tables from Showtime Magic Products. I purchased a pro suitcase table and two side tables (the fabric colour I chose was deep red). Catherine (my wife) thinks all of the tables look really nice and are very solid (much better than my old tables). And I agree. I think that the touches like the white interior, the light for the interior, the extra shelf at the bottom, the fold down panel at the bottom, etc. are wonderful! The side tables are great, too! They look attractive, but are compact enough that I can carry them inside the pro suitcase table along with my magic show props. I can't wait to start using all of these tables in my show.

Also in some of the photos is my 25 bloom poinsettia style botania, built by Richard Hughes. I bought that from Richard in September 2013, and use it frequently in my show.

I've posted some photos on Facebook, in this album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=......34925166

I have a question about this table. When it is opened up to the table position, how sturdy is it?

It looks like there are only two little side clips that hold the table up when it is opened. Is it sturdy enough to set heavy props on, and perform tricks involving heavy moving props like cups and balls with heavy copper cups?

How sturdy is this once it is opened up???...

The pro suitcase tables are very sturdy. I set quite a bit of weight on the top, at times.

If you're talking about the suitcase table, it's sturdy. You could sit on it.

No, I mean when it is opened to the table top position. In the video it looks like just a bitty latch on each side holding it open. You mean you can sit on it when it's closed right?
